Professors admit that it is built to be more difficult than what you will face in the job market to adequately prepare you. There are TONS of opportunities for extracurricular learning and fun. There are a bunch of Engineering clubs doing everything from drones to innovation. Professors provide lots of opportunities for students to do undergraduate research.
