I live near this location and wanted to try this place out as I love Mexican food and was excited to see a place open up so close to me.
Unfortunately, I don't have many positive things to say. I ordered the number 1 off the menu and got a beef crispy taco and a chicken enchilada with black beans and rice.
The beef and chicken tasted super bland. No flavor. The black beans were ok, but tasted a little off to me. I don't like rice to begin with so I didn't eat any of the rice. The enchilada sauce on the enchilada was not tasty at all. Overall, I didn't think any of it tasted that great.
I saw they had a large menu with lots of other items, but my experience with this dish does not give me any confidence that anything else would taste better.
I did get a free side of chips with some average salsa at the salsa bar.
Outside of the dish itself, the employees were nice, but the service was struggling with some just-opened-restaurant type issues that I assume will be fixed over time if they stay in business.
The ticket for multiple orders didn't print in the kitchen and so a couple of orders had to be rushed, but the wait wasn't that bad and the lady at the cashier was nice.
Another guest came in and notified the staff that the Diet Dr. Pepper was out and their response was that the bag was full in the back and they don't know what's wrong with it. The guest left with something else and mentioned this was an issue last time they came in.
Overall with many Mexican options within two miles of this location, I would rather go to any other place than this one based on taste alone. Don Joaquin, El Vacquero, El Gallo Giro, Los Hermanos, Rancherito's and if you want to drive a little further for my favorite Mexican place, Maria Bonita's in Orem; all are better tasting and sometimes cheaper options than this place.
I give this place a year or two tops before they go out of business just like the average Mexican place (that had better food) that was in this location before. There are too many good to great Mexican options available for another below average Mexican restaurant.
To be fair this place had a lot of other options that I didn't try, but the dish I got was so incredibly bland that I have no desire to try...
Read moreI was in charge of the food at a YSA ward activity, and looked desperately everywhere for a place that could provide us a lot of tacos. I tried Don Joaquin's; but as good as they are, they were incompetent and were trying to charge outrageous prices. I tried asking rancheritos; but the cashier didn't know what "catering" was. Then I turned to Don Chuy's, and all my problems were solved. I walk in on a Thursday, and asked about the best way to go about ordering lots and lots of tacos for an activity for Monday. They immediately presented me with the option of a package of 120 tacos +rice, +beans, +chips, +salsa for only $169. I got two of those, enough for 70 people to have 3 tacos each. They even gave me a discount because I paid with cash. It ended up being a fraction of the cost that Don Joaquin would have charged. Fast forward to Monday. I go to pick up the food, and they had it all ready for me when I wanted it to be ready. They helped me carry it out, and then we had the best ward activity ever. About 70 people showed up, and the food was more than enough. I'm sure everyone had at least 3 tacos, but we still went home with extras. Plus, it tasted amazing.
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because their chips/salsa aren't the best. Chips don't usually come with your food unless you order them, and some of their mild salsas are bland, while the hot salsa is far to hot for anyone to handle. However, their green guacamolito is...

Took about ten minutes to get my order right. Not faulting the cashier, she may have been new. After spending all that time ordering, two of the burritos were wrong even though they were labeled right. After waiting for our order to be made, the cashier said that someone in the kitchen told her she didn’t charge us for the extra sour cream and that I owed $1.50 more (after spending $45 on food). Getting bent out of shape for that much seems like really poor customer service. I didn’t push back on the cashier because I knew it wasn’t coming from her but it really was shocking. The cook had a serious chip on his shoulder. Not sure what the problem was but my brother and I were shocked how mad he seemed working back there. I didn’t give the cashier a hard time because he seemed so mad. There were only 3 customers in the store so being busy wasn’t the problem. Food was decent so that’s the reason for the extra star.
Response to the owner: I bought 3 burritos, 6 rolled tacos with guacamole and cheese, and two drinks. Does that up to $45 now? Weird that you would deny the validity of my review and instead double down.
Obviously there was a serious problem with your staff and for you to say there isn’t is bizarre. Maybe in the future take your customers...
