Old Longtime owners left😭. Now there’s the same accordion song on repeat, rolls that look like a teen’s mom bought him some sushi making lessons. And the prices are ⬆️. RIP my favorite sushi restaurant 🙏. Rolls come with less pieces (keep in mind with the higher prices) Ends of my tempura roll were burnt. Hardly any rice on the Maki like the crystal roll which was an old favorite. All the ingredients have changed. Each roll has very very fishy tasting white fish in it… (white bass from Utah lake maybe?). Not to mention the waiter. Bless his heart. He was refilling out water literally every 2-3 minutes it was insane! After giving us the check he just sat there and watched my father rather then giving us privacy. He only handed us our food from the far side of the table making my dad reach across and grab every tray rather then just going to the person who order it and setting it down. While pooring water he spilled a ton! My whole wasabi/ginger tray got flooded with water. Not to mention why is the e wasabi and ginger not on the same tray as the sushi??? The trays use to be used for soy sauce. Very akward employee situation. A young girl who I believe is the chef? took our order very quickly which was nice but then 5-7 minutes later the guy came over asking what we wanted… we told him the chef had already took our order and I believe this contributed to some confusion. Many rolls we order were forgotten about and we had to remind him where he would go back to the kitchen and immediately come out with them. Almost like they were just sitting back there to see if we’d forgotten about them. If you read all that, this is no joke, please take my words into...
Read moreI used to come here all the time. They have really cheap sushi on Tuesdays and i guess Thursdays now, so we would always get a group to go have fun. The last time i went was horrific. Worst dining experience of my life. We were seated almost immediately but it was over 30 minutes before someone came to get our drink order. We waited a solid 10 more minutes for them to deliver the drinks. Finally they took our order. Most of us ordered Sushi, but one girl ordered a normal meal. We waited another 45 minutes for our food and when they brought it out, they forgot her meal. We asked them to still make it. They never did. After we finished our sushi, she was starving, but decided not to worry about it because service was so slow. We hadn't seen our waiter since we got our sushi. No one brought us our check and we'd been there almost 3 hours. I walked to the back to find out what was happening. They told me they would bring our check when they felt like it. I went back to the table and told my friends we should just leave but they convinced my to try again. This time i was told they lost our check. Finally we decided to just go stand by the cash register and wait. No one would help us. Finally i grabbed a waiter by the arm and made him ring us up. We had to grab a menu to show him what we ordered and the cost. There were 7 of us. But one didn't eat and the other girl never got her food, 3 hours later, but he still tried to automatically add gratuity. I had to tell him there was no way we were paying 18% gratuity for the meal, service and overall poor treatment we had received. I will never...
Read moreEver since spending a couple of years in Japan, I've made a hobby of sorts of trying the various Japanese restaurants that pop up near the colleges here. I ordered the bento box with chicken katsu and cucumber roll, as it had a wide variety of foods to try. The first items they brought out were a salad and miso soup. Miso is always great, and this one was no exception. The salad surprised me though, using an onion vinaigrette dressing I haven't tasted since I left Japan. Simple but authentic definitely a good note. The rest of the food came in. The gyoza were well fried, and the eggroll was tasty. The chicken katsu was incredible! Extremely tender, while the outside was crisp but not over fried. The sauce for it was in it's own container so I could put it on to taste. The only negative dings from me would be that there was no bowl to pour my soy sauce into, and that the seaweed around the sushi turned out to be fairly chewy. Ultimately, this place is one of my favorites I've tried. As soon as this broke college student gets money again, she's going to be trying their...
