I came in on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, around 3:45 PM and placed an order. The employee making my sandwich did not change his gloves after handling money and immediately started preparing my food. I had to stop himāhe was wearing headphones, which he also touched, adding to the contamination risk.
When I told him to change his gloves, he argued with me, claiming his culinary school taught him that itās not necessary to wash hands or change gloves after handling moneyāwhich is completely false. Money is known to carry bacteria and viruses, and handling it absolutely requires proper sanitation.
He eventually changed his gloves but did not wash his hands. Then, after putting his headphones back on, he re-contaminated the new gloves. He continued touching various unsanitary surfaces in the kitchen and then handled my food with those same dirty gloves.
I requested a refund, but he refused at first and didnāt even know how to process one. I had to argue with him repeatedly before he finally called a manager.
This experience was extremely unsanitary and unprofessional. The employee violated several food safety protocols, and I hope this issue is addressed seriously. I will not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love Ernie's but was let down a little by today's experience. I ordered at the kiosk which was fully functioning and even had a sign next to it that said I could order there. Ordered, waited 20 minutes until I started realizing other people's orders were coming out before mine. I came to the front and asked about it to which I was told that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I sit and wait another 10 minutes and warn another guy at the kiosk making the same mistake as we did. We get our sandwiches, we are apologized to and then I suggest putting a note on the machine so people know not to order there. He told me to not order there unless they tell us to. I tell him again (very nicely) that they should clarify that in the signage if that is the case. He walked away as I was saying that. Again, I wasn't mean in suggesting that but was snubbed by the staff member.
I would suggest, again, at least listening to your customers. And please put a sign up if you don't want people ordering at the kiosk and you know it sometimes...

One of the Ernieās employees (Asher), messaged me to inform me that the driver forgot my sandwich. When I called the driver, he could not speak English, so I had a hard time explaining the situation & that he forgot my sandwich. š So I had to go run & pick up my sandwich myself because the driver didnāt bring it. Thanks to Asher, they were even willing to make another fresh sandwich for me. Of course I go to pick it up from the Orem location, because that is where I thought I ordered it fromā¦only to find out that GrubHub orders are made at the Provo location! Luckily, the worker at the Orem location was SUPER KIND to just fill my order there so I wouldnāt have to drive to Provo. Talk about going ABOVE & BEYOND! Not only is the food amazing, but so are their employees. I wish I got the girlās name at the Orem location, but THANK YOU Asher from Provo...
