I have heard of people yelling at managers, but I've never had a manager come over and yell at me! Maria, you were the first! This was after a lovely evening of excellent service by hosts, servers, and great food and drinks, running up a pretty decent tab. Unfortunately the margarita I ordered came out over loaded with Tequila, so much that I could see to the naked eye that it was off. I had a few sips but it was so strong I couldn't drink it, and by that point had lost my taste for it so I sent it back. The server offered something to dilute it, but I was over it and really not interested in a haphazardly mixed by me at my table $15 dollar cocktail. No worries, mistakes happen, things just don't come out right sometimes, this is a thing that occurs in restaurants, and I have worked in a few. Not that it should matter in an instance like this, but the restaurant had already made a good amount of money off of me, and would be making more since I was staying right down the beach for a few days.
I was back to relaxing and enjoying the view and digesting the delicious meal, when the manager came over and started giving me a hard time about sending the drink back, saying she could give me something to dilute it and, "what do you expect me to do, eat the cost?" I repeated that the supposed "fix" wasn't what I wanted, the drink was very off, and anyway I just wanted my check. She haughtily quipped, "Well I'll just charge the bartender for it since they messed up the recipe" and stormed off.
So. Messed. Up. You, Maria, are the manager. If the bartender is messing up drinks, that is either a training or a staffing issue. It was a very busy night, so I'm guessing it might have been either or both. Either way, it's on you. I left a big tip for your wonderful staff. I hope one of them gets promoted to manager soon. The host, 2 servers, and cooks all get 5/5 stars. The first drink I had was also delicious.
If this is how you treat customers, I shudder to think how you treat your staff, although you gave me a hint.
I think you can tell by my history here that I very rarely to never leave a review, but for the sake of your staff and future customers here to have a beautiful time at the beach, I...
Read moreBeen here for at least 7 times. Let me start with saying that this place has no towels or air in the bathroom. After washing your hands you have to exit bathroom to get paper towel in the hallway. So after washing your hands you have to touch that door knob (the one you need to grab, squeeze and turn, good luck with those wet hands), and we all know some people don't care about hygiene, so you are touching their privates and not only... (have to remind you its a restaurant) On top of that, even in the hallway there was NO PAPER TOWEL. Bathroom smell is extremely unpleasant (always), for a food place its a disaster! Manager was contacted, and wasn't happy about things I pointed out. I was giving lots of attitude. He thought its perfectly normal and there is no problem.
Let's move to another issue, this place constantly overcharges or brings someone else check, it happened twice for me! and I read reviews that I'm not alone.
Fish and any other seafood is frozen and mostly imported.
most people go to the bar to get their drink them self's (if you get your food, forget about the waiter to come back to check on you) p.s saw this in the reviews already as well
and not so important things: No olives for your drink on busy nights, been told that you get them for brunch, but they ran out before night, even know drinks twice more expensive at night after 11pm they start bringing you plastic instead of glass, even know you still paying $8 for a drink
Food is not too bad, and would come back, but was told not to by the manager.
Conclusion: If you very hungry and don't care about such unsanitary issues, bring gallon of hand sanitizer and enjoy their food. because that's your only option in the...
Read moreStaff was nice but the place could use some sanitation. All the equipment has seen better days and if you're worried about a pristine restaurant this is not the place for you.
I ordered a chicken/cranberry/walnut salad over romaine and was told they could sub out the chicken for mahi mahi so I said go for it. I was never told there would be an upcharge and only found out about it by overhearing the staff talking about it. Apparently even though the menu lists chicken as an ingredient in the salad it's a $3 upcharge for it and $5 for the mahi. I thought we had a pretty good rapport with the staff so I was disappointed they took advantage like that. Just know the price shown isn't guaranteed to be what they want you to pay...
My boyfriend ordered a standard burger and it tasted standard. Potato wedges were fresh out of the fryer and arrived after he finished his burger.
I got a Pina colada thinking being in the tropics might actually mean real pineapple but it was just canned juice. Not even canned fruit chunks went into it. The whole drink was overly sweet from the ultra processed ingredients instead of tangy and acidic from pineapple.
Overall the place was laid back and I could see the appeal. It's right on the water but sort of in an out of the way corner. I don't think I'd go back, but it was a pretty good choice considering we were fully aware that we were wandering into a very...
