BEST PLACE TO SEE A DEAD BODY. DROWNING VICTIMS WASH ASHORE HERE. TOMORROW MORNING THEY WILL FIND THE 12TH VICTIM OF THE MONTH. A YOUNG MAN OF 25 WHO'S BODY IS CURRENTLY TRAPPED INSIDE A REEF CAVE. This used to be one of my favorite beaches in Puerto Rico. I will give it 5 stars when something is done about the problem and people stop dying. A word of advice to MUNICIPIO DE LUQUILLO AND THE COMMONWEALTH OF PUERTO RICO- 9 OUT OF TEN TOURISTS DON'T KNOW WHAT THE RED FLAGS ARE FOR. IS IT ASKING TOO MUCH TO PUT UP SOME SIGNS EXPLAINING THE RED FLAGS? MAYBE A PICTURE OF WHAT A RIP CURRENT LOOKS LIKE AND WHAT TO DO IF YOU GET CAUGHT IN ONE? LIKE THE SIGNS YOU SEE ON EVERY OTHER BEACH IN THE WORLD THAT HAS RIP CURRENTS? ARE YOU THAT FAR BEHIND THE TIMES? OR JUST LAZY? EDUCATING THE PUBLIC DOESN'T RUIN TOURISM. A DEAD BODY ON THE BEACH DOES. INSTEAD OF AN ELECTION PARADE MAYBE YOU SHOULD SPEND THE MONEY ON SOMETHING TO HELP THE PUBLIC YOU WERE...
Read moreWe rented a condo in a perfect part of Luquillo. It was a block away from Playa Azul...which in our opinion is the best beach in Luquillo. Approximately 45 minutes from San Juan. It is connected to numerous beaches like La Pared, San Miguel & Luquillo Beach. Playa Azul is a wide beach with a sandy bottom. It’s clean with plenty of tree shade. Definitely not as busy as Luquillo beach. During our vacation we didn’t see bathroom facilities or food vendors on the beach. People bring their own supplies; music, food & beverages, chairs etc. We saw the full month cycle and learned how the moon affects the tides. When we arrived the waves were quite high and we thought there’s no way we would get in the water but after a couple of days the ocean was calm and it was perfect for swimming and other water activities This condition went on for more than 3 weeks until our last few days when the ocean...

Aside from the beautiful views, Playa Azul tower 2 is a death trap. I stayed at tower 2 room 902 and it was an absolute nightmare. First and foremost the dryer did not work. The tv in my bedroom was broken. The pull out couch was pissy and dirty. The door lock was very tough to open. Took about 2 to 3 minutes to jar it open. In case of fire everyone would not make it out alive. Outlets throughout the condo did not work. There was water from the fan on the balcony that my sons unknowingly did not notice and slipped and were injured on. Kitchen cabinets broken. The hotel elevator trapped myself and my young children for nearly 15 minutes. The ocean water is very rough to enjoy. The pool and beach closes way too early at 7pm. Really wish I would’ve done more research before staying there. It was not what i...
