Honestly, really disappointing. Everything about New Garden is great except for their food, the exception being their chow mien. Its the soul reason it doesnt get a 1 star. If you want food here, get this and only this. The rice is inedible, I wouldn't be surprised if they serve 10 hour old rice. I had won ton soup (pretty good) the almond chicken and orange chicken are the same type of chicken. Its like they warmed up chicken nuggets and topped it with sauce. Speaking of which, the almond chicken sauce is a embarrassment. Its flavorless and adds nothing to the meal except make the chow mien taste worse. If I had to describe depression to a sociopath, I'd give them this and make them eat it all. It leave you feeling empty inside and sad after a few bites. Next the orange chicken. It tasted on par with Safeway takeout. New Garden, do better. Stop being lazy with entrees. Lastly, the saving grace, the chow mien. It brought me life after this disaster of a meal. I genuinely thought it was good. But after each bite, as it got colder, it got worse and worse. Its best described as a hot one night stand. Its great in the moment then as it progresses, you feel sad inside. Then at the end of it all, as a broke college student, I pay for my meal. I wouldve preferred to been mugged the 20 and not given food then go through that experience. I'll only go there again if its against my will....
Read moreI introduced my wife from New Jersey to this restaurant in 2006 and when we went back after adopting our two Florida children to eat with our older daughter and her partner last summer, we were again delighted by the waterfall and traditional Chinese decor giving the customer a chance to relax and step back from the busy college town outside. The food is the best I've tasted and I've eaten great food in China Town New York. This is different to some tastes and If you are not used to hot spicy food and you try the Hunan Chicken, ask them to make it cool no added spices for you and me too. Almond chicken is unlike any found in other geographic regions and very delicious with the white sauce and ground almond garnish! My tummy is growling down here in Florida for a batch of take-out. Disregard any bad reviews as myth or payback for leaving a bad spirit in the restroom or something. I've never been abused or mistreated by the owner-managers or the wait staff but we are all human and do...
Read moreThis is literally the worste chinese food I have EVER had in my life. the sweet and sour chicken container was half full with literally 4 small pieces of chicken. The fried rice was just white rice with a tiny biy of pork on it, not eve fried. I called to ask about this and the person who answered the phone apologized and said that's not how it should be. So I drove all the way back down there and the lady at the counter said that's how it is and even though when I called they said they'd remake it right, she refused to and would not give me my money back or anything.
I suggest going to safeway for chinese food over this restaraunt, the food tastes better, and is cheaper.
This is my 2nd and last time coming here. Do not be fooled by these other reviews which are most likely written by the owners.
TERRIBLE FOOD, TERRIBLE SERVICE. WILL NEVER EVER...
