Isabel & Annabel's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Punta Gorda

Delicious food, fantastic service, and friendly owners! What more can one ask for in a restaurant? I am from AZ and when I visit FL it's always difficult to find yummy Mexican food. This place is just as good if not better than most of my favorites back home.

I was just recently diagnosed with celiac disease and was pleasantly surprised how well I was taken care of here. Mostly everything seems to be homemade to order. I am on a trial and error system at the moment with eating out and get sick afterwards often, but am VERY happy to say I did not get sick after eating here. The owner even came out to make sure my meal was good to go and realized that I had the red sauce and informed me that it is thickened with gluten. He sent it back and had it quickly made again with green sauce. I felt safe eating here and the green sauce was delicious. We were traveling from Fort Myers to Tampa and for lunch we searched around us to have lunch. We came across Isabel & Annabel's Mexican Restaurant. It is a Mexican restaurant in Punta Gorda and has a roadside parking in front of them. When we entered the restaurant it was around 3:00pm so it was pretty much empty. We got seated on our table and greeted by our server Marvin with the menus and since it was around 3:00pm the lunch menu was going to be closed at 3:00pm. So by checking out the menu we quickly decided to order Isabella Quesadilla Lunch & Chicken Fajita Lunch plate. Soon our server got water and along with water he also got us Chips and Salsa. We stopped for a quick meal. Thought the chips were stale and store bought. Salsa bland and watery. Prices for our meal way too high for the quality of the meal, atmosphere. Decor is completely lacking in originality. Cheaply done for a restaurant in key area downtown, with high rents. Competition is steep for locals well traveled and tourists alike.
