Punta Gorda deli co. and mercantile — Restaurant in Punta Gorda

It was my first time visiting Punta Gorda a deli Co. atmosphere was nice however the food was absolutely horrible. They have premade subs and I had asked the lady at the counter to make a fresh one (as I did also purchase a premade one) as I did not want soggy bread after going back-and-forth several times I said can you please just make me a fresh one moments later the sub was finished. When I got home, noticed that the lettuce was wilted. The lunch meat was old. It was brown on the edges. It appeared that they use the same sub that she said that was made two hours prior and they just changed the bread that sub was older than two hours it was not fresh, I got potato salad and macaroni salad that tasted sour. It was so disgusting. I couldn’t even finish it. I spent $38 on two subs, potato salad and macaroni salad. I will never go there again. Subs should be made fresh when you’re paying that kind of money. I’ve purchased boars head from Publix and know what fresh lunchmeat looks...

My goodness what a great addition to downtown Punta gorta. The sign out front says “The best Cuban “. I am always looking for a good Cuban sandwich. I have constantly been disappointed since I had one at the wyvern in punta gorda which was great. You know what the Cuban sandwich here was wonderful. The sign was right. The bread pudding was also amazing. You must check this place out. The other items in this mercantile are also unique. I will go back. They also have wine at a decent price. I was in town for only a week. Visited this place for lunch. Very friendly and welcoming. I see lots of locals ordering food to go as well. I had Cuban sandwich. It was nice and very filling. I think you can share with someone if you are not big eater like me… While you are waiting for the food, you can walk around the shop. Many interesting things...
