Military Heritage Museum — Attraction in Punta Gorda

Such a place of honor! It was a humbling experience that touched my heart. What a wonderful tribute to all our servicemembers. The education provided by the exhibits & volunteers exceeds anything offered by our educational system. The chronological sequence of American Military History displayed is done with reverence & respect for the sacrifaces made. If you love America, then this is where you can learn & respect our Military. The volunteers are so helpful & provide information as well as listening to our personal military history. The ongoing schedule of events provided by the Museum is outstanding and enhances the experience. This is my second visit to the museum but it will not be my last. State of the Art! Lots of interactive displays,and exhibits like the flight simulators, and VR goggles/headsets that give strange new perspectives to the experience. This place has a huge stage and theater room, that other posters have described as very good. There were large and small screens all over with videos of various conflicts and the first person experience of the veteran. In a building that is styled like an old house (huge houses) way off the ground so protecting valuable exhibits.. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable with great stories, a gift shop with patches, pins, hats and other things at great prices! I think I could spend another visit or two and if interested, I could spend days in the upstairs library...

This is a must see! If you or someone you know has served in the military or even if not, you'll want to visit here!

They have many realistic displays to view & videos to watch on every war fought, uniforms worn over time & an impressive library holds a wealth of information. Have you ever wanted to fly a plane or maybe fire military weapons? They have a virtual reality station & simulators so you can! Don't miss it!

Having served 8 years active duty in the Navy myself, I was very impressed, you really can't appreciate all they offer in one day. They even have special events to interest & teach kids. I'm sure everyone prior military or not, young & old, will enjoy visiting the Military...
