What a joke of a "restaurant" We had gone years ago and had a bad experience but thought we heard there was new owners so we'd give them a try but we are regretting it. First, we were waiting a while to be seated. Then we waited a while for someone just to come over to take our drink order. Then when she took our order, instead of telling us right away that there's a linked menu she lets us order but says oh we're out of that. Then I order a Greek salad and before she leaves says "it's ok if there's no tomatoes right?" Sure whatever. 45 mins we waited for a Greek salad with grilled chicken and their "chicken bacon ranch tacos" which were 3 tiny "tacos" that were more like an appetizer than a meal. Wish we knew it didn't come with anything. Esp for $18!! And the "Greek salad" which was $28 looked like store bought bagged salad mix with tasteless chicken on top. They forgot the feta so I had to ask for that. I couldn't even eat more than the gross chicken because it was too gross. Then it took forever to get our check and pay. As we were leaving a worker was walking in with bags of groceries!! So seems we weren't too far off we were probably sitting there waiting that whole time while they ran to a grocery store to get the food! If they were low on stock/supplies from a busy event this weekend then either didn't open or open with a limited menu. Never left a restaurant hungry before. Save your time. Save your money. Go somewhere else, you have a lot of amazing options in that area other than this joke of a place.

I purchased a French dip to go, I was surprised when the receipt said it was 17$, but I assumed it must be a very large sandwich. I was left pretty disappointed when I opened the box to see a 6 inch sub lightly packed with roast beef. I'll give them credit for toasting the cheese to the bread, however the roast beef was overcooked and dry. I prefer the roast beef to be juicy and have a little red to it, the roast beef I got was that dry grey look and texture. The juice was good quality, although I like to see some onions either on the sandwich or in the "au jus" (translates to "with juice"- fun fact). I got a side of mashed potatoes- they must've been made in house, they were pretty good. They had some loose skins and occasional chunks, and they were very smooth and creamy everywhere else. Overall the taste of the meal was a 3.5, however since the proportion did not match the price I gave them a 3 overall. I got my food to go so I really can't say much about the service or atmosphere aside from that it was ready on time. On a side note, in the photo I did already take a bite off the right half.

I love this small Putnam area with its quaint atmosphere. Easy to walk to from my boyfriend's home location. Decided to try this restaurant for the first time as I did hear how good their food was. Inside the restaurant is very unique in style as it was an old railroad station. Got the brick walls which adds to the overall ambience. Each table was spaced out with sanitizer bottles. Indoor and outdoor seating, bar seating area as well. Service was a bit slow and this was during the week, could imagine what the weekends would be like. I went wit a friend and we weren't that hungry so we shared the 'Crossing Sampler' that included: boxcar wings, onion rings, hot wings and chicken tenders. We took a side of fries. Nothing special to say about the sampler, the fries tasted the best. I'll give it a try next time I'm back in town as my boyfriend suggested the burgers, sweet potato fries and clam chowder. Never veer from what someone suggests, that was my first mistake.

We drove an hour to meet family there to celebrate a birthday. We, apparently, picked a bad Wednesday night to be there. There seemed to be a local fund-raiser going on for which the staff was unprepared. The meal I ordered - surf and turf- was "out" by 6:30 (as was the dessert, when we got to that). The $21.00 shrimp scampi was good enough, but not $21.00 Great....Maybe $15.00 fair. My husband (birthday boy) appreciated the tenderness of the ribs, but not the dry, baked on sauce. The other family members didn't complain (though the 16 year old got sick in the parking lot - coincidence?), but no one LOVED their meals. No one was delighted with the food and accompanying prices.

The service, unfortunately, was really poor....especially the incredibly long, long, long, long, long, long wait between the ordering of dessert and it's final delivery (by a different, friendly person). In the meantime, my husband's coffee HAD been delivered and was cold, by the time the dessert finally appeared. We would have cancelled dessert, and wanted to, but our disappearing server had not provided a glimpse of her to do so. Our shared apple crisp was one of the least satisfying, perhaps worse, ever had. The apples were still hard, the crisp had a slight burnt taste, it was without much flavor, and was certainly NOT WORTH THE EXTENDED WAIT. While some of the place had cleared out by dessert time, those waiting for the raffle to be drawn had not. When they started yelling the raffle numbers right next to us, I couldn't vacate the table fast enough, leaving the family stuck behind, still waiting to settle the tab.

We didn't pick the location because of the food (though one other family member had been there, previously, for lunch-time soup and had liked it). It was selected as a part-way point between family members....and it's about the company, not the high priced, mediocre food, right?! Well, that didn't turn out at all as we anticipated either, since it was BEYOND incredibly noisey, and we could not hold a conversation. We could not hear each other speak at any comfortable level. This was NOT A GOOD TIME. So, we had fair meals at higher prices, with incredibly slow, delayed service, in a place that is interesting to look at, with really poor acoustics, in which we could NOT hear to hold a reasonable conversation without yelling....we are NOT RETURNING....NOT RECCOMMENDING,...

We have eaten here before and by far this has been our worst experience. We arrived at 2:30 pm on Sunday. At the time there were two other tables inside with customers, so not busy at all. To start, our unsweetened iced tea was cloudy and tasted like we were sucking on a tea bag. I have never had cloudy iced tea so I asked our server. She claimed that if they put ice into the freshly brewed tea too soon it turns cloudy. ????. I do that at home and don't get cloudy tea. We added lemon and it was still barely palatable with several squeezed wedges. Perhaps the tea bags were left in the pot too long? My husband ordered a burger and I ordered a Buffalo chicken caeser salad. Thirty minutes later our server came over, apologized, and told me my salad was given to someone else and they could hold my husband's burger until my food was done. I told her he can have his burger now otherwise it will be cold by the time I get my food. She brought his plate. He had substituted onions rings instead of fries (a slight price increase). He got the fries. I reminded the server about this and she checked our order on the computer. She came back apologized again and took his plate back to exchange the fries for onion rings. When my food arrived it was missing the blue cheese. I found another server to get that for me as ours already left our table. The food was fine. When we received the bill we were charged $18.99 for my meal, which was a $15 special. We had to flag our server again and she double checked, apologized, and fixed the bill. It was not crowded, maybe two or three more couples came after us. There were several servers walking around. I might have given them some slack if it was crazy busy but that was not the case. The last time we were here, the service was slow too. We returned because we liked the atmosphere and how spacious it was inside with an option of going outside onto the patio. The food we ordered was good too. With so many options in the area, this restaurant was not worth...

UPDATE: I changed this review down to extremely unsatisfactory. I have given a ton of reviews over the years and if you go through them you'll see they are fair reviews. I do not slam businesses that do not deserve it. In other words I should carry more weight with my opinions than a reviewer that has few reviews that are mostly slamming one business or another.

With that said...I have never been insulted as bad as the front desk host insulted me. Further he was rude to my wife as well. We put our name on the waiting list and were to return back in 1 hour 40 minutes later and would be seated. We returned 20 minutes earlier then that and tried to check in so they would know we were there. This guy who was their host claimed we were not on the list and it would be another hour wait!!! There was nothing this guy would understand or do to figure out they were screwing up badly.

But to top it off he acted as though I was trying to cut the line by lying!!! Then he continued to be rude to my wife on top of that!!! This guy was not only a coward to treat women like that but he also looked like an idiot wearing shorts in February. What kind of people does this place employ?! Frankly I should have noticed the disorganization of this restaurant when I observed they scribbled names randomly all over a bunch of papers scattered all over their desk. Even the papers lacked lines and it was clear the names did not appear as a list but scattered all over.

I've been here before and liked it. Now I will let everyone know about how this place changed and about their disgusting behavior. They lost 4 customers that day and numerous other ones yet to come. It takes a long time to build a reputation and a short time to ruin it with this kind of behavior.

This is what they got for a review before: Good pub food. Service was excellent and this is one of the best restaurants...
