I had waited over 25 years to have a meal at Casa Mia, Puyallup. I recently had the chance to do so, in the company of my husband & two of our three children. My husband kept looking around & saying, ‘it’s not very crowded in here for this time of evening.’ I believe this is why: three of us received our meals in a timely manner, my husband’s (small) pizza did not arrive until the rest of us were done with our meals. The waiter came back once (in between) & told us that ‘it was taking longer because there was a new cook.’ He never offered anything to tide my husband over- complimentary or added to the bill. The meal ended up costing nearly $100.00 & my husband went home & got sick- I think his blood sugar had bombed out from waiting so long to eat….He just didn’t want to cause problems and our family, as a rule, will not act as such in public. The sad ending is this- we will never go back. I realize there are a million excuses ‘why the pizza was late,’ but, everything aside- it really comes down to principle- or lack thereof. All the waitstaff had to do was go a tad out of their way to keep this from happening- but, the establishment clearly doesn’t tell them to/let them in order to keep hard working local families return customers. The food looked & every dish tasted good- but, if they’re that uninterested in a customers overall experience, why would it matter? Now I understand why the place was so deserted- too bad because we were looking forward to that meal & received...
Read moreWe should have left the moment we walked in and my kids used the restroom, which smelled like it hadn’t been cleaned in days. A nice lady sat us and then we waited at least 10 mins before she asked if we would like water. 15 mins we were given rolls that were cold with butter drizzled on them. I think we’ve ate the same ones from Safeway. Not impressed.
My kids ordered spaghetti with meat sauce. Imagine getting lukewarm pasta noodles and the most blah Safeway select pasta sauce dumped on it. The flavor reminded me of high school spaghetti, with less flavor. I ordered tortellini and once again, the flavor was non existent and the pasta was chewy. The highlight was when my wife attempted to chew her uncooked Mushroom Ravioli and found a nice quarter sized piece of sausage. She took our kids and left without finishing the food.
The entire time I was here I kept waiting for John Tapper or another Tv celebrity to show up and say this place is closed. The people running this place show zero interest in providing the customer a positive experience. From the absurd wait time for water, to each meal item being poorly cooked; let’s ignore that it seemed everything we ordered came from the Safeway frozen food aisle - there is absolutely zero pride here. Dirty plates, urine stench in the restroom or a salad that was littered with brown lettuce.
The owners of this restaurant seemed to have not updated the place in 30 years and are not in touch with the product they are...
Read moreIt's an Italian restaurant with an all Spanish speaking crew. The food was just okay bordering on meh. We had a strange pizza that was very expensive $27 for a large and it had no meat on it! It was a hash brown pizza with a white sauce that had a very off putting taste. I also had a house salad and it was expensive $7.50 for a side salad that had only lettuce a bit of mozerella and a few slices of black olives; I asked for tomatoes and I got the equivalent of one slice of tomato and they up charged me $2.50 for the tomatoes! So $10 for a salad that came on a plate that was the size of about 1/4 of a dinner plate. My husband got iced tea and it was terrible, but he was able to drown out the taste with lemon and sugar because they don't have Splenda. The service was fine and the server was nice and did a good job. The restaurant was too dark and not welcoming in any way. The ladies room was clean but it's just a bit bigger than the restroom on an airplane. I don't know that I'll go back because it was quite expensive and nothing to write home about as in nothing remotely...
