I live just around the corner and had only been to this place once, late in the afternoon. The girl working there didn't seem very friendly and the selection was nil, so I thought I'd never go back. But I went back a few weeks ago to get donuts for my daughter's class on her birthday, and the staff we extremely friendly, the donuts were fantastic, the atmosphere was bright and cheery. I've been back several times since, and have decided they make the best apple fritters I've ever had in my life! Seriously, these are some of the best donuts in town and they put Krispy Kreme to shame!

You can't miss the GIANT donut stand display sign off the street. It's something out of the Simpson's and this location is just as iconic. The people really know this place as their own. Located next to KFC and off of 2nd street. They have a designated parking spot for their patrons. It may be full, but it clears out fast as most orders are to-go.
Service was extremely quick with multiple attendants at the counter when we were there. They are friendly and boxed up our donuts with plenty of napkins and even taped the lid of the box so it doesn't "pop" open.
The donuts were the best I've had from NY to the PNW (and I've had a lot of donuts). The cake donut was easily the best. It's simple but hard to perfect. Just a hint of sweet and crispy with the sound of the "crunch" as you bite into them.
The oil they used to fry the cake donut was fresh and light. You don't get the heavy oil taste when you have these donuts. So when you bite into the apple fritter, you taste the apple, not what it was fried in.
We got a half dozen, including a raspberry scone that had jelly filling. This rang up to be about $11 with 2-drip coffees.
The coffee here is also a wonderful dark nectar. Earthy and dark with a rich finish and not the burnt finish. I should have got more than 2-cups, but I was pretty full from munching down 4-donuts in one sitting!

Read moreI have passed by this store many years while traveling through Puyallup city center, and there was almost always a line out of the store. Finally decided to drop by and see what was there. Time was around 2:15 p.m., and there were few customers due to the time of day.
The lady at the counter greeted my daughter and I jubilantly, which was a welcome surprise. Varieties of donuts remained well stocked, with some "forbidden" ones not sold at other places due to allergies of some. Overall, the donuts were very good. Some were even excellent. The premium ones included Cinnamon roll (Excellent!), apple fritter & bear claw with apple stuffing (Surprised, still undecided on rating.)]. The maple bar, plain twist (Excellent), the cake donuts [white and chocolate with peanuts, white and chocolate with coconut, blueberry (Excellent)] and the french crullers (Unusual offering, a little let down though as they may have dried up due to late in the day? Will have to try them again.) were the other ones we picked up. Made a mistake not getting any buttermilk ones. Pricing was about average high, but the lady offered a 10% discount, and kicked in a freebie on top of that. Much appreciated.
Overall the experience was great, and will definitely return to get more soon. Don’t fail to drop in when you are in the area. You will...
