My husband and I went out for dinner tonight, and had a rough start to our meal that ended as probably one of the best dining experiences we've ever had! We arrived sometime around 6:30pm (So smack dab in the middle of the dinner rush!), and were seated and greeted promptly. Our waitress (Aspyn) took our drink order and let us look over the menu. My husband ordered a half rack of ribs and a 6oz medium steak, I ordered an 8oz medium steak with a side salad. It took over 45 minutes for our steaks to come out, but our waitress was on top of our drinks and rolls, so we didn't mind too much. Unfortunately, our steaks were charred well done and very dry. We inquired with the waitress about it, and asked if she could have them remade. She apologized profusely and admitted that she'd forgotten to add in the half rack of ribs to our order, and that's why our steaks had dried out and gotten well cooked. No problem, we appreciated her honesty (Truly!), and didn't mind waiting. We snacked on our sides as we waited. The ribs came out and were very tasty and moist! About an hour into our meal, the manager came out and delivered our steaks, making sure they were cooked perfectly, and apologized again for the hiccup, and offered us a box to even keep the well-done steaks! Score, I thought! Lunch for tomorrow! After we'd completed our (now) very delicious meal, the waitress brought our check, apologizing again, saying she'd deducted 15$ from our total for the inconvenience. Wow, that was incredibly generous and unexpected! I was just glad they remade them for us correctly while being super nice about it, but this was the cherry on top! Or so I thought. We left a tip for the waitress under the full amount we would've paid without the discount, as she'd really gone above and beyond to make our experience pleasant and took great care of us. As we were leaving, we passed the manager once more, and thanked her again for making sure everything went well, and she asked us to wait right there and ran to the back. She returned with a voucher for a free dinner for 2 (up to 30$)! Holy cow! We thanked her again, quite shocked at her thoughtfulness and how far she'd gone to make sure our night ended on a happy note! As my husband and I waddled out to our truck, full of steak and sweet tea, we really had no words for how amazing the whole ordeal left us. It was such a great date night for us, and I couldn't be happier with how well the staff there handled everything. I look forward to our next...
Read moreTexas Roadhouse is an experience that exemplifies the meaning of "you get what you pay for", at least most of the time. The food, while pricey was delicious. The appetizer "killer ribs" was a good start, buy I wouldn't add any emphasis to the word killer. They were great ribs, but not to die for. While the Ft. Worth Ribeyes were a bit on the fatty side, the overall experience was pleasant.
The service would have received 5 stars if it weren't for the interaction of our hostess, that nearly led to us changing our dinner plans. We were met with immediate obstinacy with our hostess. It was approximately 90 minutes before closing time and it was moderately busy. It was initially suggested that it would be at least a 15 minute wait because there were no tables available. My wife clearly saw there were several tables and booths open. When this was mentioned to the hostess, she responded that they were running with only two waitresses and that section was closed, when there was clearly more than two waitresses. The hostess then shifted to a stance of not knowing how long it will be before a table opens up and asked if we're still willing to wait. When we answered yes, she asked if we would be waiting in their lobby or outside... At this point, I'm really questioning this person's motives. It is 16 degrees outside and I have a two year old with me. Literally seconds later when it became apparent of the agitation levels with this hostess, whether she was being intentionally dishonest or not...a booth magically opens up and is ready for use. This was a booth that my wife actually had pointed out that was available and not within a section with no service traffic. While I couldn't clearly identify the motive of our hostess, our server was fantastic. She had a great attitude and was overall splendid. Our hostess could learn quite a bit from our server on how to make guests feel welcomed.
The general atmosphere was clean and boisterous. It gives off a great positive energy making for a fun experience. Overall, I give Texas...
Read moreWhere to begin... I called ahead at 7:21pm and gave my name and asked for a table for 2. I was told it would be 45 min (so 8:09 by the time the call was done) I got to the restaurant at 7:43 amd gave my number (6897) and was asked if I was sure about my number (I text the number to my fiancee's phone while still on the call) so since my name didn't match the number I was given (really?) I got added and they "moved me up". Queue over an hour of standing there while the 5 (yes 5) workers at the host area proceed to stand around and talk while the entrance builds up, many people paid and left while few people got seated. Meanwhile people in the waiting area get to the point of just helping themselves to bread (totally a sanitary situation) and multiple parties in line leave. At 8:30 I finally ask how many people are ahead of me and I am told 1 party, they proceed to seat 4 parties ahead of me and I get seated at a table with my fiancee at a little after 8:50. I am then asked by a manager if we seated ourselves as the hostess apparently seated us at a "closed table" (this manager was standing right next to our table when we were sat, how about instead of acting like the customers just decided to seat themselves you pay attention to what your workers are doing) and we got moved to another table. Our server came, and Kayleigh (think I spelled that correctly) was legitimately the only light to this abysmal experience. Great server, no wait on refills and prompt service. The burgers weren't great and the fries weren't good either, but it was busy so I can give that a pass, but the amount of open tables throughout the restaurant while the entrance was jammed full of patrons was inexcusable. I normally don't even bother to review places after a truly bad experience, but this was just horrible. So in conclusion, Kayleigh, 5 stars for service. Everything else, I would give 0...
