If youāve ever wondered what it feels like to walk straight into a Glade air freshener factory explosion, this is your chance. The moment we opened the door, we were hit with a smell so strong Iām pretty sure it rearranged my DNA. Maybe it was supposed to be āambience,ā but it felt more like āchemical warfare.ā
The place itself is decorated like Instagram had a midlife crisis and decided to puke aesthetics into a shoebox. Cozy? Nope. Claustrophobic? 100%. I half-expected the walls to close in on me like that trash compactor scene from Star Wars. Donāt miss the empty Amazon boxes placed strategically to elevate the decor.
We bravely ordered the much-hyped gulab jamun cake. Now, silly us, we thought there would be cake. What we got instead was a cup of whipped cream stuffed with chopped gulab jamuns, like someone lost a bet in a dessert-making contest. It was so sugary that my teeth started vibrating in Morse code begging me to stop. Thank goodness for the free water, which quickly became the star of the meal.
Needless to say, we left half the ācakeā behind and escaped before the air freshener claimed more victims. Driving all the way here felt like going on a pilgrimage⦠but the kind where the gods laugh at you.
Moral of the story: Donāt believe everything you see on Instagram reels. Sometimes, the only thing going...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhile the ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and well-curated, our overall dining experience fell short of expectationsāparticularly given our intent to enjoy authentic Desi cuisine.
We began with the dark chocolate pistachio dessert, which unfortunately lacked any discernible pistachio flavor. The texture was dry, and the overall taste was disappointingly bland.
Next, we ordered both masala chai and cardamom chai. Regrettably, both were overwhelmingly sweetāreminiscent more of maple syrup than traditional spiced tea. A more thoughtful approach would be to offer sugar separately or inquire about sweetness preferences, especially for beverages where balance is key.
The samosa chaat was another letdown. The samosas were excessively spicy, while the chutneys leaned far too sweet, resulting in a dish that felt disjointed and poorly balanced.
Although the atmosphere was lovely, we visited with the hope of enjoying authentic flavors and culinary finesse. Sadly, the food did not reflect the richness or nuance of traditional Desi fare. We left...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLove love love. Been here twice so far. We were greeted with a Salam and a warm smile. The desi inspired desserts are plentiful, unique, and delicious. I had the iced cardamom chai and the iced masala chai. My husband had the ice masala coffee (I think), it was all delicious and they were able to accommodate my sensitivity to overly sweet things.
They are zabiha halal and family run, and it feels like it. The staff back of house were all chatting and giggling with each other, service was still fast.
The chicken samosa isn't really a samosa but it's still delicious along with the imli and green chutneys it came with. We also got to sample the samosa chaat which was absolutely delicious. I love all kinds of chaat, so happy that's their specialty. Personally, I would only really come here for a drink and snacks but they also have a limited menu for meals like nihari and biryani.
Excited to see them in Seaboard Station which is walkable. Will go back many...
