DISCLAIMER Remember to be careful when you mistreat others. You never know who they may know or most importantly, who they may be :)
I've heard very bad things about this bar, especially dealing with discrimination. I still gave it a shot. My very first time at this bar, I had a rather, disturbing experience. Being a native from North Raleigh, born and raised, and who was a bartender/waitress for over 7 yrs, I have never encountered so much hatred and negativity from a bar and bartender in my 27 years of living...ever. It was an oddly confusing and discriminatory experience.
The caucasian female bartender with a short bob-looking cut ..kind of reddish/purple hair (I believe) was probably the weirdest and most angry woman I've ever seen lol the bartender did not even want to tell me how she was doing when I asked...weird. But I let it slide. She then tells me that she does not want to serve me..but why? Being a black woman, I am always scrutinized, but I take it with ease and grace. I killed her with kindness by asking why she does not want to serve me, and she threatened to call the police, over my question...very strange lol No other employees saw this as a discriminatory act, so I left.
It is weird how the color of your skin can intimidate someone so much and cause so much hassle. Please, as a minority, and as a nice human in general, be mindful of this bar. Do not give your business to places that spew unnecessary hatred, it is toxic and if you are not a strong individual, the toxicity will spread within you. Maybe she, the bartender, lacks self-love and respect for the fellow man, and ultimately, herself. So bartender, I pray for you and the people you have around you because, you are your environment. Because I am in law school, I have many ties with the court system in Raleigh. I will be doing my research on this bar, and I will be back to figure out exactly who you are, bartender, so I can take this a step further with the direct contacts I have with the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, please review the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Federal Public Accommodations Law . I will not allow you all to continue to treat your customers, especially minorities, in this manner. No one deserves the experience I had. Something has to and will be done. This will not end. Again, be careful who you mistreat, you never know who they are or most importantly, who...
Read moreI'm not sure who my bartender was, Was a black gentleman who wore a lot of rings on his fingers and he was an absolute sweetheart, engaging in conversation with me, and by the time I went to get my second drink, he remembered when I was getting. I can't say the nice same words for the bartender who wears a ball cap. I was never able to catch your name however she is a bit older I believe. I had had a question and when I went up to ask her there was somebody trying to pay I didn't realize that and accidentally requested to ask a question. She sat there and kind of barked a hold on Which at that point I didn't see as anything too terrible because yeah, I did accidentally cut in line and that was my bad. What bothered me is that as soon as she was done with the other customer and she turned to me and yelled " What?! " In the nastiest tone, she could muster it seemed. There was no need for her to be so rude I hadn't sat there and acted rude to her or anything. I understand dealing with drunk people can kind of be a pain if I'm not drunk myself, then drunk people grind my gears. But if you can't handle that and still have at least a neutral attitude than you shouldn't be working in a bar, there's no reason for her to have been so nasty when she Chose...
Read moreThis is one of the last good bars in Raleigh but I recently had an issue with their new $50 pre-authorization fee on credit cards. Me and another buddy stopped in for a couple of beers. First issue is that this place keeps your card when you open a tab and since I’m not used to this I ended up leaving it there. A few days later I go to pick it up and they give it back but there’s no receipt. I ask about this since I noticed I was charged $59 and had only ordered two Bud Lights. The bartender told me $50 was probably just the pre-authorization fee (which is a bit insane) and it would fall off but I could clearly see that it was not a pending charge. She took my information and said someone would call me which of course no one ever did. I left my info at the bar on 3 separate occasions and have left 3 separate voicemails but it’s looking like I’m screwed out of $59 but maybe that’s my fault for...
