I have heard and seen so many good reviews about this place, and how their pizza is the "best"... I decided to order it for my family to try it out, and although they aren't used to Chigaco style pizza, we are HUGE NY style pizza fans (get that quite often, so we know where the BEST place is 😜). First off... I decided to order from postmates, because it is convenient, and it said it would be delivered in 45-55 minutes. Ok, it was getting a little late, but we could wait until 6:07pm (which is the original time it said it would be delivered by). My poor postmates driver was sitting at the restaurant for close to an HOUR to pick up my food. The order was received in their kitchen by 5:22pm, the postmates driver wasn't able to leave the restaurant until 6:33pm, delivering it right at 6:43pm. Now, if I was a customer in the restaurant, I would certainly NOT wait an HOUR after I ordered to the time it was brought to the table. I understand it takes a while to make a pizza and a sub, but I have worked in MANY restaurants, and I have never had guests waiting over an hour to get a hot meal. This is totally unacceptable. I literally had to cook something else for my kids, because they were crying because the pizza took an hour and a half to get to us. This is not the postmates fault. I saw he was at the restaurant waiting on the order forever, and he honestly was the nicest postmates delivery guy. The food.... the pizza was OK. We got the thin crust, so not much sauce, but maybe that was a good thing, as the sauce reminded me of "homemade" sauce, but the kind that is like... a can of crushed tomatoes, on top of the lightly olive oil on the crust, and maybe spices on top of that. Not really a marinara or pizza sauce. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø The crust was really chewy, and bland... kind of reminded me of papa John's crust in a way 🤢. The Godmother sub was really good, and only complaint there is it got a little soggy waiting on the pizza to come out, but that is kind of to be expected with a hot sub for delivery. Prices..... now, this (and the fact that it was way too late), is where all these stars are knocked off. I understand that postmates has some fees, and I order through them all the time for various restaurants, and have NEVER experienced this.. these prices are RAISED in postmates. They are more expensive menu prices then the actual menu... then at the end, it still charges the postmates fees. Not sure why the restaurant changed their prices in the app, but that is total gouging! I got the receipt from the postmates driver, and my meal should have been $29.98, supposedly, before the postmates fee/delivery/tip... I noticed on the app, they charged my card for well over this amount, and when I looked, the actual ITEMS were more expensive on the app then their actual POS in the restaurant. So let me ask... WHY AM I PAYING $57 (BEFORE TIP), WHEN THE FOOD WAS $29.98?!?!? It doesn't make sense. I added photos to show times and prices, and also how the chewy crust looks.. such a disappointment. This place is NOT worth it. WAY too expensive, and may be waiting over an over to eat your food. The pizza isn't that great, either. I've had way better pizza in the Raleigh area, for WAY less money.

Thank goodness in the Chicago pizza desert of the Triangle there's Nancy's! They have a new owner in the last 6 months or so and he has this place running like a well oiled machine now. Nick and the floor manager, Trey, are both very personable and make sure everyone is having a great experience with a quality product. They did switch to Coke instead of Pepsi, but the blend is so good I'll give em a pass on the change. šŸ˜‰ I'm a Chicago purist when it comes to pizza, born and raised in the city, so I prefer traditional thin crust, as do most Chicagoans. They make a really good one here. They still have stuffed/deep dish pizza (like the tourists in downtown Chicago are told is Chicago pizza and suburbanites seem to prefer). Nancy's thin crust also comes as super thin. The sausage has improved from what was before. The thin crust is baked well done now, but if you want it cooked less just tell them. They're open for lunch on weekends now, which is a welcome addition, and on Thursday nights they have live music. Sign up for their newsletter so you'll be in the know. If you were a customer of the previous owners and ever found things a miss and stopped coming, please give them another try. I'm telling ya, this new guy is doing an excellent job and deserves another try for how he's turned it around. You can tell he's committed and in it for the long haul. BTW, please add south Durham or west Cary to your expansion plans!! We need some great pizza over here. šŸ˜‹

Food excellent, service not so much…Ok, y’all, so I didn’t want to give this place a low rating but it was the service for me… We already waited over the 15 minutes we were told to wait when another family comes in with the same amount of people, lied and said they had a reservation and were quickly seated before us! Here’s the kicker… the website does not offer reservations and the Google description states ā€œ..we do not accept reservationsā€¦ā€ We were told that sometimes corporate may accept reservations and the location didn’t have any control over that…that’s odd because working for some of the channels I work for through RE and law and business, I still did not see that option. They did try to make it up by offering a free app BUT, the unfair experience can be a bummer. But here’s how karma works, the very woman of the family that lied and said they had a reservation…we ended up having to sit right next to them. She couldn’t even look at us in the face! Lesson: Don’t lie and don’t aid someone in lying…exposure comes quickly these days.. I understand how tough the restaurant industry can be, but training servers and handling large crowds is a part of business. There is so much more I could say that happened that night but….pizza, pizza šŸ•

So… we called today to order a large thin crust pizza. We asked the young man if they had any specials and he said no. At no time did he say download the app because we may have specials or occasionally we have specials but they can only be seen through our app. We then asked him if they offered a senior discount. He said no but let me double check. He places us on hold then comes back to say ā€œmy manager said no but he will do something for you when you get here.ā€He states, ā€œI don’t know what that something is. Maybe it is free food.ā€ I laughed and we ended the conversation. When I get there, I said I just called and your manager said he was going to do something for us and I jokingly said for the old lady (my mom is the senior, obviously). The young man remembers speaking with me and trots over to ask the manager what he will do. They both look back at us and the manager then comes over to explain to us that we can download the app and thats where I can find specials. Is this your ā€œdo somethingā€ for us. He really could have kept that. I was expecting much maybe $2 off as a good faith or here try this sample on us. I’m not going to even speculate why he didn’t do anything. All I’m going to say is… that was very poor customer service especially since you’re the owner and stated you are trying to attract more customers. Well, guess who will not be recommending you and I’m from Chicago so people listen!!!! My pizza was not piping hot like I expected since they said it would be 25 minutes and we were early since I ordered while in route and on top of that I get poor service. The pizza was actually like warm. I can definitely tell the ownership has changed because my boyfriend loves this place and it did remind me of home but that warm fuzzy feeling I used to get from the previous waiter (can’t remember his name) is...

A friend recommended this place and I really wanted to love it. I drove well out of my way to try this pizza. I didn't love it. I really didn't even like it. Maybe I should have ordered a pan pizza to get the true Chicago experience? But I ordered a thin crust. Pepperoni sounded good. Italian sausage sounded good. Spinach-mushroom definitely sounded good. But I completely did something different. I haven't had a Hawaiian pizza in forever and I regret that's what I ordered. I ordered a small, thin crust, Hawaiian pizza and it was probably one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. I literally have had store brand frozen pizza that was better. I wasn't sure if the meat was actually Canadian bacon. It was just small cubed meat that could have been deli ham. Where are the slices? There were a few tiny bits of pineapple and some unrecognizable cheese, but it was mainly crust and unmistakeably bottled barbeque sauce. I guess Chicago style pizza is cut into squares? This small pizza was cut into squares so small that it made more sense to eat it with a fork. All of the squares were smaller than two inches.....just weird. To make this experience even less desirable, when I ordered, I said I would be sitting at an outdoor table. I guess they took that to mean I wanted my order to-go, but they never asked me if it was to-go. They brought me a to-go order. I ate 3 little squares of this pizza and decided that was enough. I went to the grocery store next door and saw a delicious-looking frozen pizza for $ 6.99. I regretted my earlier decision that cost me $23 for a small pizza and a...
