I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sam Jones BBQ in Raleigh, and I must say, it was an absolute delight for my taste buds! This place truly knows how to deliver mouthwatering barbecue that will leave you craving for more.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the ribs. They were massively huge, juicy, and perfectly cooked. The meat fell off the bone with each bite, and the smoky flavor was absolutely divine. The ribs were generously fatty, adding an extra layer of succulence and richness to the overall experience. It was a true BBQ lover's dream come true!
While the pulled pork was slightly dry on its own, the restaurant provided a selection of BBQ sauce and vinegar sauce to enhance the flavors. These sauces worked wonders, transforming the pork into a wet and succulent masterpiece. The combination of the tender pork, tangy vinegar sauce, and the smoky barbecue sauce was pure perfection.
For those who prefer their barbecue with an additional kick of heat, I highly recommend trying the Texas Pete sauce. It adds a delightful spicy element to the already incredible flavors, satisfying the cravings of any hot sauce aficionado.
The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, with friendly and attentive staff who ensured a pleasant dining experience. The rustic decor and laid-back atmosphere contributed to the overall charm of the place.
Sam Jones BBQ is undoubtedly a great barbecue spot in Raleigh, delivering on taste and authenticity. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is a must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable barbecue experience. I cannot wait to return and indulge in their delectable offerings again soon!
Overall, I give Sam Jones BBQ a resounding five-star rating for their fantastic food, especially the massive and juicy ribs, the creative sauces that elevated the pulled pork, and the optional Texas Pete sauce for spice enthusiasts. Make sure to add this gem to your list of must-try barbecue...
Read moreSam Jones BBQ is a highly rated barbecue restaurant in Raleigh and today I had the chance to learn why. They are dishing out delicious Eastern Carolina style wood-fired whole hog barbecue right here in Raleigh. I've been craving the delicious vinegar tang flavor I grew up on as the daughter of a skilled pit master. I come from a family of men who know how to barbecue, so trust that when I recommend Sam Jones, it's with a sophisticated palette. I enjoyed everything we ordered via delivery. You'll find quality meats, large portions and flavorful dishes at Sam Jones. I decided on the turkey, pork chopped barbecue, Smoked Alabama white sauce wings, potato salad, barbecue beans, and moist sweet potato muffins. All of the barbecue meats were moist and flavorful. The turkey was sliced perfectly, the pork was delicious paired with both the vinegar based sauce and sweet sauce as well. The smoked wings with the Alabama White Sauce were a favorite for me. Alabama white BBQ sauce is a mayonnaise-based dressing that also includes horseradish and cayenne pepper. These wings were so moist, yet charred perfectly. The white sauce really packed the flavor for me. The sweet potato muffins were so delicious ! I'm glad I skipped out on the cornbread and went with the muffins. You can really taste the sweet potato and I love how soft, moist and fresh these were. I am extremely picky about side dishes. The Collard Greens were perfect here. Vinegar based and flavorful. I really enjoyed these. The potato salad, macaroni and cheese and baked beans were all perfect as well. Nothing was overly seasoned or under seasoned. I enjoyed everything. Sam Jones serves the perfect Sunday dinner. This is now one of my favorite...

Cornbread: Unfortunately, this was a miss, being both tasteless and dry, leading to it being discarded after just one bite. As told by the company: The cornbread is a tradition in eastern North Carolina. People who grew up with it love it. For others, we recommend the sweet potato muffins.
