I don’t understand what the fuss is all about with the low ratings. I experienced the opposite. I went during lunch time and didn’t call in the order or place one online, just to see what issues were there with service. I went during lunch rush around 12pm.
I arrived along with my coworker. Look through the menu and placed my order with tbe lady working the counter. I didn’t get any sass or rudeness, she even asked us if we were together or separate, I told them separate. Even took my request to make the General Tso’s chicken crispier with no issues. My coworker ordered beef and broccoli. I noticed that there was a $10 minimum for credit card, so I just told my coworker, I got it, and told the lady to charge them together, even though we originally said that we were separate, without any issue.
Got our food, brought it back to work and ate it. Food was fine, I finished it, if it wasn’t good, I don’t finish it. The General Tso’s chicken was a bit heavy with the soy sauce because of the saltiness and was light on the sugar which is suppose to thicken the sauce into a glaze and even out the saltiness, but wasn’t much issue for me to finish my lunch. I got hot and sour soup with my lunch combo and I have to say, is better than most places that I’ve had it at with the perfect amount of tofu, mushrooms and bamboo shoots without it overwhelming the soup.
I would take the bad reviews with a grain of salt. I don’t go to a Chinese take out for hospitality and to exchange pleasantries like a higher end restaurant which cost more. I go to a Chinese take out because it’s quick, efficient and satisfying. I can’t wait to go back to try the other dishes. I would also like to add that this is actually one of the better quality Chinese take out joints. The other place would the be the casual sit down dining Chinese Restaurant right off 17 North by the Kohl’s and Five Guys...
Read moreWhen I first moved into the area years ago, I tried every take-out Chinese food place within a certain radius. While some of Good Taste's competitors are good, in my estimation this place certainly tops them, and hence I've been a loyal customer to them ever since I first tried the place. I eat Chinese take out fairly regularly, and I consider my standards for it to be high. While their name isn't exactly creative (or a traditional Chinese restaurant name), it certainly does relay accurate information about their food. I find it to be consistently excellent. It is also quickly prepared and reasonably priced.
They run lunch specials each weekday that are a good bargain, and they always have dinner specials on the menu as well. I find two of their staples items -- hot and sour soup and pork fried rice -- to be especially good. I have yet to order an entrée that I didn't think was excellent.
I will definitely keep coming...
Read moreWhile the food is satisfactory the customer service and loyalty is nonexistent. A customer for over 15 years, i placed a $100 order which included homemade duck sauce and homemade crispy noodles. I ordered 4 of each at a cost of $4 total. The duck sauce was left out of my order. Since it was a weekend evening, I didn’t want to bother them by having them bring me such a small item. Instead, about a week later, I had my wife go in after her dance class which is in the same strip mall and ask for the sauce and some fresh noodles since the noodles they delivered were now stale. Much to my surprise my wife called and said that they refused and made her feel as though she were trying to steal from them. I returned the noodles and gave them a piece of my mind. I’ll never return to this establishment and if you frequent them check your order right in front of them because if something is wrong they most certainly won’t do the...
