I came here while waiting for some work to be done at America's Tire next door. I didn't want to go to Brookefield's because that's a bit expensive for me, and this Jimboy's wasn't too far of a walk. I don't generally eat at Jimboy's, at all really, but I was rather pleased with the food. I ordered a veggie burrito, and it was much larger than I expected, especially for the cheap price. And, it tasted really good; I think I prefer it over some higher end Mexican restaurant's burritos.
As for the staff, the lady who took my order smiled when I walked in and seemed really nice. The restaurant seemed clean, and salsa bar orderly, so it looks like they take care of the place. However, some of the placement of straws and lids were strange, since they were on the opposite side of the room as the soda machine. It's not a big deal, just I could see someone getting confused.
Lastly, the restaurant felt a bit weird to me. The TV and candy machines seemed out of place. It didn't feel like they belonged in a restaurant. I get that the owner added those for the convenience of the customers, but they kinda detracted from the experience. It just made the place feel dated, as if they didn't get business and they were trying to attract people. That said, there were quite a few people who came in during lunch, let alone through the drive through. And I don't think the TV or candy is what broght them...
Read morePlaced an order online for pickup.
Food was cold, despite arriving before it was "ready for pickup", so I'm guessing we didn't even get fresh food made.
They initially forgot the chips & queso that we paid for, had to get them to add that. They simply threw old, stale chips into a plastic to-go bag and gave me that. They tasted so stale I couldn't believe it. I have 2 weeks old chips in the pantry that taste fresher than these.
The food was also not made correctly, as they added pico to the fish taco (it doesn't have pico listed on the ingredients, but since I deselected pico on all other items and it wasn't even an option on this item, I thought I'd be okay). When I brought this up, the woman who had just handled both cash and garbage with her gloved hands (no change in glove) grabbed the taco and said "do you want me to remove the pico?"
I told her no, I want you to remake it. She sighed and said it would be half an hour. To remake a fish taco. It only took ten minutes the first time so I just told them not to bother, knowing they were likely to contaminate or otherwise mess it up.
Both of us eating this food ended up sick later that night. Steer clear of this place. Spent $36 for 4 small, pathetic, cold tacos that gave my gf and I food poisoning.
Also it's a pretty rough area, lots of sketchy people in the...
Read moreJanuary 2014, Rancho Cordova on Folsom, Blvd. Worst fast food Mexican food in California. Coffee $1.50 medium cup, had to be made over tasted like hot water, cup will fold and almost burn yourself with coffee cause so flimsy. Bought Burrito bowl, can't eat it cause food falls off 1 inch bowl, asked for a plate. Carnitas bowl had lots of iceberg lettuce, i'm not kidding 17 beans, 3 one inch by 2mm pieces of pork, and tasted stale, $5.00. 1 beef taco ~$2.00, tasted like 4000 mg salt. So, after almost $10.00 just for my meal at 10:15am, girl said if I wanted chips and salsa would charge me I politely said no thanks I already spent almost $10.00 for the worst meal ever. Place looked dirty and I saw a bug crawling on the floor but decided just not to say anything. Left and will never ever go there again. Darn shame cause I had a good experience in Carmichael Jim-boy's. I was only dine in customer but as leaving 5 more people entered. Also, all the salsa for the chips looked like left over for a week without the container ever being cleaned. Probably, poorly...
