A few weeks ago, I dropped into the brand new SF Market that opened in Rancho Cordova, CA. The market is located within a larger building that houses other businesses and a food court. The market had the brand spanking new look along with the cleanliness. The square footage was plentiful with a lot of various products. The decor was minimalist and current. Brightly light.
They have a fresh seafood counter and meat counter located in the back of the market. The line for service was non existent, just old fashion chaos. I don't dig the self policing style of customer service. Also another thing to note is that they don't bag your groceries at the checkout. That's your responsibility. I didn't know and was not told. So I stood there after paying. She eventually handed me a bag with no explanation. But I looked around and the customers at the other registers were bagging their own groceries. So being alone and having bought quite alot, it took me awhile to bag it all. All the while the cashier started checking the next customer and shoving my groceries to the side. Not digging this policy. Plus currently , there is no hot deli meat counter. Possibly that will change later. I'm not inclined to come back to shop here.
The market is located on Sunrise Blvd, south of the Highway 50. The other businesses that were opened a few weeks ago beside the market were Bober Tea, and a health wellness shop. But there was signage for businesses coming soon such as a hair salon, and the food court (Noodle King, That's a Burger, Manna House, Kim's K Food, and Stick N Roll Vietnamese). The set up reminds me of a mini version of an indoor mall. The Home Depot is next door. The area is in a commercial business district, not particularly great...

I shopped in this store on Monday the 18th August. I spent almost $247.00 in this store and bought seafood. When I reached home , out of 3 lobster 2 was bad. I called back right away to store and spoke to the employees in seafood department. He told me toss the lobster away since its bad and come back and take the refund. I live an hour away from this store so I went on Friday the 22nd August. I requested for store manager but unfortunately he was starting at 2pm . I couldn't wait for that long. The supervisor came over and brought the cashier with her, with no proper English. I kept on telling him that I threw the lobster away since your seafood employee told me to do so. The cashier who acted like as a boss name Binh Tran, kept on nagging that I want to see lobster first without letting me explain to him . He chased us away from the store. He was very aggressive and rude and didn't want to listen what m I telling him. A huge language barrier. I will need to report the store to consumer health due to their behavior and selling me bad stuff. Will never ever shop in this store again, The employees are not on same page. Because of their employee we threw the lobster away. I was robbed by this store. Be careful with seafood when u purchase here. Felt humiliated by Brian Tran the way he chased me and my husband away as we did a crime. Definitely reporting this. The store has very bad return policy. Also dominating...
Read moreMy wife and I went to Otos today because she likes their selection of precut fish and bento/sushi offerings. Otos was closed so we decided to try SF Supermarket. This market doesn't provide this option. This market is pretty large and has a huge selection of Asian products. The selection of live seafood and meat is extensive with lots of fresh produce. There are aisles dedicated to specific ethnicities like other international markets. The entry to the market is a long hallway flanked by various shops -most are still unopened with a food court off to the left that is also in progress. The actual entrance to the market leads you right into the checkout aisles where you have to turn left or right. IMO this is a flaw in the entry/exit flow design. In fact people were blocking the entrance, standing and talking. We attempted to turn right but there were boxes stacked in the walkway with people exiting so we decided to turn left. On a busy day this could be a nightmare. I understand that the market just opened and there is still some organizing. Overall the market has a huge selection and when the food court opens this place...
