*Update: I did receive my money back. Still very suspicious, based upon the actions of the manager. Check your receipt. I ordered and the young lady ringing me up said the total was $76. I tapped my card but then realized they charged me $90. I asked about the $14 difference and the cashier told me sometimes it's like that. She printed the receipt and told me they difference was a $14 tip. I said no, I didn't leave a tip because the screen didn't even ask me for a tip. Then I said to go ahead and cancel my order because I have a bad feeling about the whole thing. She couldn't figure out how to cancel it so she called her manager. The manager was "busy" but I saw her in the kitchen scowling and moving sheet trays around. After a few minutes, she came up to the counter and I told her very clearly that I'm not accusing the young lady of doing anything wrong but there must be something wrong with the software because it took a tip without asking. She told me ***she'd have to reprogram the software***. She then handed me a receipt and said my order had been refunded. I had a bad feeling from her because she didn't even apologize and she seemed angry. So I checked my receipt and realized she only gave me about $65 back! I asked her where is the rest of the money and she tried to show me the computer screen and tell me she refunded everything, but I again pointed to the recipient showing they charged $90 and only gave me $65 back. Finally she said, she'd refund the second kid's meal. Which, obviously she should have done from the beginning because I said to cancel the order not part of the order. She then handed me a new receipt that said I was getting back about $75! I again said I was charged $90. Why am I only getting about $75 back? She tried to claim the tip would refund separately. I told her that doesn't seem right at all. I want a receipt showing the right amount was refunded. She huffed angrily and told me that she'd cancel the refund and do it all over again. Which was alarming because how could she cancel a refund if she already processed it? Wouldn't she just do a separate refund for the rest of it? She finally gave me a receipt for about $90 back. It was $0.39 short of what I paid, but at this point I'd been standing there for so long and was really upset because it seemed like this was all done purposefully. It didn't seem like a simple mistake because of her angry attitude about it. So I left, but I warned a few people going in to check their receipts and make sure a tip isn't automatically added to their receipts. The manager came out and told me she was calling the police and told me to leave. I said that's fine because I'll show the police all the receipts she gave me. I demanded her name and she said it was Shannon. Who knows if that is her real name, because she wasn't wearing a name tag, but it was an unfortunate-looking middle aged blonde woman who is very heavy-set... to be polite about it. Sweaty... red face. Angry expression. Anyway, then we went a few doors down and had lunch. When the police showed up, I went outside to greet the nice officer and show him the receipts. I told him exactly what happened, with the receipts as evidence. He told me I can protest them from outside on the curb but not in front of the business. He pointed out it's a hot day for protesting. I agreed and told him I have no desire to go back over there anyway. I just wanted to warn people to check their receipts. He cautioned me to keep the receipts so I can challenge the charge with the bank. And he was right! When I got home later, I checked my account and the charges had not been reversed! So I filed a fraud claim with the bank. I have all these receipts she kept giving me as evidence. But I wanted to warn folks, because that's not right. It's not right to take $14 from someone without asking and it's not right to keep trying to trick them in to walking away and assuming they were reimbursed. Most people would take her at her word. Anyway, I'm going to attach the receipts here, so you can see exactly what she tried to do.

Placed an order there yesterday for a family meal of chicken and pork ribs with multiple sides. It was for a birthday meal, actually, we were supposed to get a meal from Lucille‘s barbecue, but for two days we tried placing an order online and kept being told that they were no longer accepting orders for the day needed. So, I decided to give Dickies a try because they had the exact same type of meal we were looking for. We were all really happy that we couldn’t get the order with Lucille‘s because we all thought the food was great! It was a family meal with the choice of 2 meats and 3 sides. So we had the chicken and pork riblets and the sides that we chose were coleslaw, beans, and green beans with bacon. I also bought extra sides of potato salad, mac and cheese, fried okra, kielbasa, and jalapeño and cheddar sausage. Everything was fresh and perfectly cooked. Just and additional FYI I will admit that I’m not the biggest fan of coleslaw but Dickies nailed it! Not too much mayo and not overly sweet, it was just right and they don’t use MSG in their sausages which is always a concern because I have family members that are allergic to it. The service was remarkably quickly and friendly. I will definitely be back!

I like Dickey's and regularly go to their locations in Texas. I also like the location in Eastvale and recommend that location. I really like the now closed location in Fontana when they had that old guy working there who would walk around and ask you about your meal. This location is awful and I will never come back here. They ran out of brisket, which happens, but would not allow a another rib in a 3 meat plate despite being the last customer. The ribs were tough. They don't have free vanilla ice cream which the Eastvale location has. Look at that 3 meat plate; I left hungry. Awful service. Terrible service. They reopened in November of 2024? They should have stayed closed. I wrote corporate to tell them how much of an embarrassment this location is to what I consider to be my favorite BBQ chain in America. What a shame. Don't bother apologizing and asking how to make it better. I won't be coming back.

So I've learned when to go to this location over the past year (btw I've given up on the other location in Eastvale and other locations but they have been worse). I found that food is more fresh, warm made accordingly without any missing when certain staff members are there. I've noticed the problem with the female staff members. The attitudes got to go. You even have attitude when you hanging out bragging about partying and no one is in there. I just tell you hi I'm here for my order. Was I too chipper for you? Every time you act like I interrupted your non related work conversations. Also, noticed that they do not provide everything paid for. I shouldn't have to argue with you. First off I've been told by management when you PAY extra for a side you get that side. When I order 2 sides of fries then you put it in large container and doesn't fill up even half of it. Two bags fill the container btw. I did pay you to out an extra fry or two in. I paid for 2. I should get 2 bags worth. Especially when we get multiple sides and it starts racking up more than 5 bucks. So if I buy 5 souffle cups of pickles, it should be those 5 souffle cups. Not .54 cents per pickle. It's per .54 per souffle cup. Do I have to ask for BBQ? You ladies don't put them in a bag.. you know you working for a BBQ place right? Also, when you buy the 3 meat plate you get 2 souffle cups of BBQ, not one that you ladies like to give. Also, this last time I showed up 20 mins early from my set time. My food was just sitting in the corner to be bagged. Not warm... I had ordered it over an hour before for a set time.. Future visits I will now always try to make sure I only go when the male staff is there, they get it right and are respectful. Never had problem with them. Really disappointed in my fellow women. Ladies you can do better. I get it's fast food place. Most young people don't care. But don't you want your food done right if/when you get take out and get everything you paid for?...
