I would like to take a moment to recognize the extraordinary work of Laurie Sutterer. Back in February I contacted your office and left a message requesting information about Rapid City to plan our family's July visit to the Badlands and the Black Hills. Laurie returned my call and graciously spoke to me at length to find out the ages and interests of those in our family who would be visiting. She was enthusiastic, attentive and helpful, and truly took the time to assist me in my quest for information. Following our conversation, Laurie kindly and thoughtfully gathered maps and pamphlets related to the information she gathered from me, and sent me detailed, helpful information to allow me and my sister in law to thoroughly plan a wonderful family trip to South Dakota and Devil's Tower. Laurie went above and beyond to address our needs and we could not be more thankful. She even placed sticky tabs and sticky notes within the brochures with her own personal helpful hints to make our visit truly incredible. In a world lacking in customer service, I just want to recognize Laurie and hope she knows how much our family sincerely appreciates her efforts. We returned home last night to Ohio and all nine of us believe this was our best family trip yet. We could not have planned such an amazing trip without her help.
Many, many thanks! Sincerely, The...
Read moreMy apologies as this review is for the black Hills visitor centre on the edge of rapid city. Not downtown. We have travelled across the US and Canada and visited many visitor centres. On April 15 at 130 we met the most nonresponsive male staff that I've ever had@ the rapid city/black Hills location. In contrast at Mt Rushmore we got the best visit info person. This man is either not usually doing this job or working only because he has to. I am a senior so am not prejudiced against seniors but it was almost comical. He does give you a pamphlet if you specifically ask about a site you already have...
