My, husband went into the restaurant to see if there were small menu items i could eat (I'm a cancer patient on chemo). He was at first put off by the hostess' greeting, which did not include a "hello", smile, or anything to make him feel welcomed. He came back to the car & was hesitant to go in, but since it was late & there were things I could eat, we did go in for dinner. And it was good we did! After that initial experience, everything from there was excellent - from the varied menu, to the quick service, and especially to our server, Carrie. She was very warm, professional, and personable. She knew the menu well and which items were customer favorites.. I came in feeling like a simple cup of won ton soup, which they had, but they also had a "House Special Won Ton Soup", for $6.75. I asked about this & found it had chicken, pork, shrimp, won tons & vegetables. That sounded good, so i ordered it, and my husband had the Assorted Chinese vegetables w/rice (it was under the "lighter menu".) When my soup came, I was blown away... it was a bowl large enough for at least two people and filled with lots of protein, broth & all types of Chinese vegetables. It would've been enough for the both of us. We had leftovers from & Carrie cheerfully put them in leak-proof containers for us. The food was delicious & our server was a jewel. We'll go back next time...
Read moreWalking through the door is much like walking into a hospital waiting room, where you're not sure if it's a dentist, or a colonoscopy you're being seen for. After a moment, a nice lady comes and leads you into the back.
This is where you're seated with minimal decorations on the wall, and quick wait staff for drinks. The food waiter however, comes to ask if we're ready, immediately cutting me off with "one moment" and doesn't come back for over 5 minutes. Food comes, is very bland. The soup tastes of straight beef broth, spaghetti noodles and probably 6 oz of total meat... for $13.00. My sons meal is flavorless, though has pretty colors. It was questionable as to if the meat was beef or chicken, breaded and from frozen. The fried rice, we had hope, but it ended up being white rice with frozen peas and carrots mixture, with no fried aspect or flavor. The chicken nuggets are the same ones you get from Walmart, that are basically breaded foam. Not actual chicken. I am also fairly certain the "chicken" in my soup was originally from a can.. The water also tastes of cardboard..
All in all 2/10, the only reason it got this high of a rating is due to portion size of bland food and pretty fish to look at to distract from the disappointment of the overall visit, not...
Read moreAt first glance everything looks fine. I've purchased food here many times as I am a local. I've not ordered here in a year, but last night I picked up a Togo order here's what I got. Chicken strips and fries for my son. Lo mein- White rice with vegetables and chicken wings. Orange chicken combo with fried rice and crab ragoon. My total was 36.74 with a 1.00 tip My orange chicken was weird... at first Glace everything looks fine. I took a bite and felt like it might be undercooked? I cut my chicken in half and it was not undercooked but it was really soft, I was expecting at least a crush or something. My fried rice was good like usual. The Crab Ragoon was also pretty good. Found a hair but I'm not sure where it came from. Maybe the chef has facial hair? It looks thick and black. The taste of the chicken was quite off so I didn't finish eating. I looked at other reviews and didn't feel like dealing with the quote "Rude staff" My son wouldn't eat his chicken strips really, but loved the fries. I'm not holding that one against Great Wall, my kid is a butthead. My boyfriend complained that he only got two pieces of fried chicken with his Lo mein but the rest was good, he...
