This is the worst place we have ever eaten at EVER!!! We are from out of town came to South Dakota to celebrate my birthday and to visit Mount Rushmore. We decided to go to long horn steak house for my birthday! We waited forever to sit down at a table, they kept on skipping us. Then I ordered the porterhouse for my husband and I , we ordered it medium rare! They brought the steaks out finally only for my steak to be completely burnt!!! We were suppose to have loaded mashed potatoes and they brought us baked potatoes! We had a horrible waitress named Caitlin, she never checked to see if we needed anything! When we got back to Keystone to our hotel we realized they had kept our capital one bank card! We called the next day and the manager Jennifer told my husband that they didn’t have it! We made another trip to Rapid City to talk to the manager in person because we knew for a fact that they had our bank card!! When we got there one of the managers said they had our card and he was going to the office to get it. He took forever, we saw the waitress that served us and asked her about it, Caitlin said yes I remember you guys and yes your bank card was turned in. But when the manager came back out he said they didn’t have it! Then we were told that Caitlin gave it to some assistant manager , but he couldn’t remember what he did with it! Then we were told that the assistant manager supposedly threw it away in the trash thinking it was a gift card ( since when does a capital one card look like a gift card?) The manager said they were looking through the trash, BUT if it was supposedly thrown away in the trash then it would be in the trash!!!! We had to get the cops involved as we felt no one was being truthful with us at all! We got 3 different stories from the managers! We had to cut a case with the rapid city police department! Oh and when the police left we got another story , they initially told us that the trash had NOT been picked up and when the cop left one of the managers told us “oh yeah the trash was picked up early this morning! Really? Since when does trash get picked up on a Saturday??? We NEVER got our bank card back, they literally stole and kept our bank card!! We are leaving tomorrow back to Kansas and without our bank card and now we have to find gas stations along the way that accept Apple Pay because we don’t have our card and that’s the only one we brought with us it was just a 4 day day birthday getaway!!!! Not only was the food burnt and gross but we honestly think either Caitlin the waitress stole our card or the assistant manager that she supposedly gave our card to stole it and kept it!!! Be careful when you guys eat at this place with a bunch of thieves because even the managers are hella of sketchy, they literally covered for their employees that stole our bank card!!! If we ever come back to this God forsaken city we will NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN with a bunch of thieves!!!!!! We can’t even cancel our card until we get home because we need Apple Pay to pay for gas to get home! But as soon as we get home we will cancel our...
Read moreI am kind of a connoisseur of sorts when it comes to reviewing restaurant places. LongHorn Steakhouse is a quality place that deserves your money and your time! Now that I got that out of the way I would like to knit pick a bit. Like all food places consistency is going to be the uphill mountain climb they all have to conquer, and LongHorn is no exception to this. On any given day you can get 5-star meal and service, then the next 3-star meal with 4-star service, and so on. I have been to the LongHorn several times now and what I have learned is that it is much better to eat at the place than to order carry out! That way if you have a problem with your food at least you are there to get it taken care of instead of carrying out where it's too late to really do anything about it now. We ordered Flo's Filet (Medium Rare) 9oz with sweet potato and asparagus, and I had the LongHorn Salmon with rice and broccoli. The food is getting smaller portions than they used to, but the prices are slightly higher as well. So, you are paying more for less. If that is the way, it is going to be then at least always deliver 5-star attention to the food and service! Flo's Filet was more like Medium Well than Medium Rare with hardly any pink in it. The sweet potato dwarfed everything on the plate and could be mistaken for the main meal itself. My salmon was amazing but there really is only two ways to cook fish, either it's cooked or it's not! Takes the guess work out of it I think:) My salmon was supposed to be the 10oz but was much smaller probably around 8 or so. We paid $57 total between the two of us. Both meals were cooked beautifully!! Tender and moist and just plain scrumptious!! Now I don't want my long review to give you mixed signals in any way. This place is a 5-star place for Rapid City!! Make no mistakes, they are definitely worth your time and money. With ever changing staff, cooks, management and such making consistency a very difficult thing to have anywhere, LongHorn at least does an excellent job with maintaining it. If you by chance have an off night or day with them don't sum your whole experience on that one-time event. I recommend for anyone to always give a place 2 to 3 times a chance to really reflect on their business. This place may just surprise you because as you may know everyone can have...
Read moreWe arrived for my son's birthday with a party of 8 and 2 children (2-3 yr olds) it was 545pm. Not busy on a Tuesday evening. We got seated as the kids already got us on the list. We ordered the Texas tunions 2 orders. They were cold and rubbery. Two of the four salads came out 10minutes later then after asking twice within 15 minutes the other salads. Then we sat there 45 minutes waiting for our food. The one of the kids food came out and we asked four times for the macaroni and cheese for the other. I did ask for the manager and went back to see about the macaroni and said it would be out. She then asked why we were out I told her my son's birthday and she offered for dessert. After 2 hours and the kids now really restless we were all done. She gave a card for a dessert which was very nice and not the point. Appreciate the effort. We go to the Longhorn for several occasions and have had not the best food or service with them the past five times. Cheeseburgers are hockey pucks, cold shrimp, overcooked chicken strips, steak over cooked we are med rare to rare, cold tunions and no refills on drinks. But yet we are required to have gratuity added to our check. Each time we have spoken to someone. We didn’t want a free meal, a discount, we want what we ordered and how we ordered it. One time the manager who was on brought out a steak that was suppose to med rare and handed it to my son and had him cut it open and it was well done and chewy like it was put in a microwave and he said you heated it up now it's to done and chewy. She fought with him and my husband. He didn't...
