We really enjoyed our stay here until the last day. Clean and comfortable room, lots of grass to walk the dog, and close to shops and restaurants. Good central location for national parks and other activities. We stayed for about a week and the only issue we encountered was on the day of our checkout. At 9am, I had just exited the shower and was stepping out of the bathroom in a towel when out of nowhere, our door flew open and slammed into the security latch. Thankfully we had the latch closed so it didn’t open fully. This scared the heck out of both me and my dog. My partner went to the door to find housekeeping a few doors down from ours. There was no apology for barging in on us. She had simply moved on. Well, cut to 10 minutes later and my partner had left to bring our luggage to the car while I stayed in the room to feed the dog and use the restroom one last time before a long day of travel…While I was in the restroom, I heard the door slam open into the safety latch again! Once again, there was no courtesy knock, no “Housekeeping!” Nothing. And again, my dog and I were both frightened by the loud slam of the door into the latch. I quickly washed my hands and went to the door to find the same housekeeping employee standing outside the door. I was anxious and annoyed at this point and told her (in a less than friendly tone than I typically would) that we were finishing up and would leave in a bit! She just said “Okay” and I closed the door. What if we hadn’t had the latch closed? Not to mention the fact that she would have walked in on me in a towel, but she might have let my dog out as well; Twice! My partner came back upstairs a few minutes later and the woman was standing directly in front of our door with her cart when he tried to come inside, waiting very impatiently for us to leave. That was frustrating enough, but ten minutes later when we had done our final scan of the room and leashed up the dog, we went to leave and she was STILL standing outside our room blocking the door with her cart. My blood was boiling at this point. She didn’t apologize, she didn’t say “excuse me”, she just pushed past us into the room. What if we had wanted to come back to our room before leaving? How did she know we had brought all of our belongings to the car? We had not yet checked out and we still had at least an hour before we needed to do so. We would have complained about all of this at checkout, but as it was July 4th, there was nobody stationed at the front desk. Checkout was handled by a sheet of paper and pen on the counter. This last hour of our stay really put a damper on an otherwise great stay. I would give 1 star due to this rude, annoying encounter if our room hadn’t been...
