FILONCINO is THE BEST CAFE IN THE AREA. I mean where else can you find quality cappuccino/coffee at 7-8pm? Speaking of which, the cappuccino here is delightful, velvety texture while still keeping a strong coffee flavor. I've had it several times and all were consistent. And yes, they have a large LOL. I am very thankful we now have such a great cafe that is open later. I'll be here at least 3 times a week.. The prices here are standard for the area, and in my opinion, are actually reasonable because of the great quality.
The food & baked goods are what really set this cafe out among the rest. Everything is fresh, using quality ingredients, all made with love. Teeming with flavor, of all different textures, levels of sweetness, and, so forth. So far I looove the teardrop cookies, elephant ears, rainbow cookie, and their berry tarts are too die for. I still have to try the other treats, Filoncino has quite the assortment to choose from. The croissant and breads are next level! I was gifted some of the chocolate bread which was excellent (makes for a killer French toast bread...HINT HINT). The brick oven bread that is used for the sandwiches is phenomenal, it is soft and pillowy but the outside has a slight crunch while keeping all the flavor from the oven. The sandwich menu is just as extensive as their bakery's. I had the #7 salami & swiss, simple and delicious! The meats & cheese are tasty and fresh.
Filoncino is a great addition to Red Bank. They have put together a beautiful space with a welcoming atmosphere. Your staff is courteous, professional and always greeting with a smile. The great food & cappuccino are what brought me here but the great business I experienced has made me a committed patron. So glad to have you!! Iam excited to try all the other...
Read moreDon’t get me wrong the food was very good! The problem was the bill and the fact they had about 5$ worth of extra charges on there that were unreasonable. First we ordered a cold brew coffee menu said 4.95 plus .75 cents for flavor, bill came at 6.50 for the cup saying there is not sizes when having cold brew in house. The waitress did not say that, we specifically asked how many ounces was a small cold brew. Also they charged an extra .25 cents for sugar free syrup vs regular flavored syrup which this is not listed anywhere on the menu. The salad we ordered was 19.25 the bill was 20.75 which was just an honest mistake and was fixed immediately. Lastly ordered one rice ball in which waitress asked if I wanted sauce, I said yes, 2.00$ charge for a small cup of sauce. For an already expensive meal we did not appreciate being charged for every little thing without warning. Bottom line check your bill! Manager did fix the bill but not without hesitation stating “this is our pricing” which is just not reflected on the menu. Beautiful place but needs better...
Read moreMy out-of-town friend and I had lunch here last Thursday. I will start by saying the food itself was delicious but I have two issues: when my friend asked for a little more Parmigiana cheese for her pasta dish, the waitress told her there would be an extra charge. Never heard of such a thing and I have bern to many Italian restaurants throughout the country. Often, the canister is just left on the table. I don’t know what the charge would’ve been because she made do with what she had on her dish. Secondly, we asked for some bread for the table, another standard for an Italian restaurant. The waitress said she could order us a roll from the bakery to which we said, “no thanks”. I am hoping that the waitress was new and misinformed and that this is not standard fare for Filoncino. If it is, I will not return even though the food itself is very good. I was somewhat embarrassed as I was treating my friend to lunch and wanted it to be a nice experience for her. I would like a response from the Manager of...
