I was so excited to see a Shipley’s open up near me. Unfortunately, these donuts are nothing like those at the Shipley’s I’ve been to in the past. There is nothing like a soft warm fresh glazed Shipley’s donut….instead we received stale, dense trash donuts.
I also read all the bad reviews saying the same thing. It seems this is a franchise location that is not following the quality guidelines which is not only disappointing, but truly unacceptable.
My hope is that Shipley’s corporate steps in as I’ve seen nothing but these types of reviews on this location. I see Shipley’s responding, but I think it’s time they put a stop to this with the franchise owner or shut down. This is not a representation of Shipley’s and it’s not even close. Avoid this location!
UPDATE: I am shocked to see this location is still not following the franchise guidelines for quality of their donuts. This is the only Shipley’s location I have ever seen that doesn’t have the hot airy pillowy melt in your mouth glazed donuts. This location has received hundreds of complaints; including mine, over the last year and the owner continues to reply to complaints with no real Solution.
Owner, what is it going to take for you to figure out how to make real Shipley’s donuts? You continue getting this feedback and nothing changes. I plan on reporting you to corporate because your location is a poor representation of the Shipley’s brand and quality.
Tip- take the feedback and make the adjustments. We aren’t asking you to reinvent the wheel here. We are asking you to follow the same quality of the Shipley’s brand, that is supposed to be part of a franchisees obligation to quality standards. Those hard dense glazed donuts are complete opposite of what people expect when ordering...
Read moreI ordered through DoorDash and got the custom dozen donut and a medium hot chocolate. My Dasher called to inform me that they were COMPLETELY OUT of cake donuts, which I had ordered 7 of them, with only 2 of the same, the cinnamon sugar cake donuts. I got the cinnamon sugar donuts instead of the cakes (not a big deal). Upon the phone call, my dasher asked if I would like any substitutes, i said no. Received my order brought it inside for me and my husband, and checking my receipt on DoorDash, they refunded me $4.19. They basically refunded me for the hot chocolate that I ordered, but I still received, not for the amount of donuts that I didn’t receive, which in total was $8.45. And on top of that, the donuts were COLD!! Not warm or fresh tasting. I dont live too far away for them to go cold that quick. Ive had Shipley's before and I've loved it. But ordering today, I was disappointed to say the least. Will not be ordering from there again just to order a dozen donuts, only for them to be out of almost half of what I ordered to be charged for a full dozen, cold donuts and only get a...
Read moreThe staff is great. I love the design of the location and was very excited to have a Shipley’s so close as to not have to travel to Arlington. I first went during training as I was so excited that I thought the store was open. I was given a free box of mixed donuts. I took it home to my wife and they were almost inedible. We chalked it up to training. I’ve gone a couple of times since and the kolaches taste nothing like every other Shirley’s kolache I’ve had from Arlington to San Antonio. The bread is off as well as the massive hot dog that tastes more like a beef hot dog than sausage. The donuts are not as soft and even fresh ones from this location have been hot melted glaze on a dark chewy donut. The Apple fritter was just a tough massive dough ball. I believe these are franchises so I understand a difference in product but in this case, I don’t think that’s smart. Please consider regrouping because I...
