I was excited for a Japanese sushi and ramen house to open up in town, but given the town, I was skeptical to the quality of the food. The service was great, but they were really slow with only myself ordering takeout and one table sat, so idk how they do when they are busy. I ordered the tuna roll and the takoyaki (octopus balls). They were both edible. The tuna roll was bland, but at least it wasn't sour like other places I've eaten at. The takoyaki was undercooked and very runny. Properly cooked takoyaki should be gooey, but not runny. I had to eat them by hand because a chopstick or other utensil would've popped them like a water balloon. They also didn't put much bonito flakes on them, but the sauce was ok.
I'll give them a few more tries. Eager to try their ramen.
Edit: Finally made it back to try their Ramen. I ordered the Pork Tonkotsu and it was pretty underwhelming. The broth had a metallic taste like it came from a can, the pork was mostly fat, and I'm pretty sure the noodles were instant noodle. The vegetables were good though. It really seemed like it's just dressed up instant noodle, and to be quite honest, I've had some instant noodle that I've liked more than this. I won't be returning unless they start using fresh ingredients or lower their prices. $17 for a bowl of mediocre ramen and a soda is pretty ridiculous.
Edit2: the owner just responded to my review saying that I should come back and dine in and I will see a difference. I'm assuming they mean that it will be better if I dine in. I wanted to point out that I did dine in my second time visiting this restaurant where I talk about the ramen, and if they are telling me it gets worse than dressed up instant noodle with metallic tasting broth from a can if I order out, then I am definitely not returning ever again. You shouldn't be giving your take out customers worse food when your food is...
Read moreAs a Red Oak resident, I am happy to have this restaurant in this area as now I don't always have to go for sushi at the nearby grocery store. It's new and perhaps they are still trying to find their footing but right now there are better Sushi restaurants. You just have to drive farther away. Service is on par with other good Sushi style restaurants, Its friendly. The food was ok. Not blow my socks off, but ok. I think the portions were on the smaller scale. I could get larger portions at the nearby grocery store quite frankly. Didn't, try the Ramen. The atmosphere is ok. Basic at best. The layout is easy to describe.. It's a rectangle, The sides are North, South, East, and West. The entrance door is approximately in middle of the South side. Sushi kitchen, wait staff, and registers are along the East side- bar customer seating on the east side or in front of the sushi bar. Tables/chairs are everything else inside the rectangle. Bathrooms are in the left corner of the north side. Didn't like the fact that on this cold day, I was seated close to the door and so everytime the door opened, a cold draft would hit me. Didn't find the wide bench style seats that comfortable. (Hope they retink that design of the entrance door and improve it.) The prices were on the medium to higher range. I think out of sync for the portion sizes. I hate to bring up a smell, but I did smell something in the atmosphere. I would guess a type of cleaning agent that creates it...but, I really have no clue. It was noticed, though. I paid $46 for Poke, seaweed salad, Green tea, and 3 types of sashimi. No alcoholic beverages...

I will be informing everyone I know in Red Oak, Waxahachie and DeSoto, this place of business is a thief and refusing to get to the bottom of running my card twice.

If your owners cannot speak English and resolve issues with customers about billing disputes they should not be in business… at least not in Red Oak, Texas
These third world business owners should never be allowed to collect taxpayers money
It’s a requirement to pay my bill( it wasn’t rejected or I would not have been able to leave) it should be a requirement for the owner to speak with me in ENGLISH regarding my bill.
The customer service from the manager was below standards. She was upset and hung up on me because I was questioning her!!! Your business ran my credit card twice and you’re mad.. lol… go figure
