In town for the Big Turn Music Fest, we ate here before starting our night of music. The space is bright and basic with few decorations. Which is fine, because the food is the star. Fantastic flavors. Deep and rich and clearly authentic. See the many positive Spanish language reviews backing up our assessment. Wife had the ground beef taco salad. Said it was easily the best she’s ever had. I had the veggie burrito with salsa verde. Veggies were many and had a nice fire roast on them, plus delicious black refrieds and some melted cheese. So simple yet so much better than most other Mexican joints I’ve eaten from. And that salsa verde was flavorful and had generous heat. We will stop here when we come through in the future. Kicking myself that I did not take a picture, but I was hungry! I hope they become very successful. This...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to stop in for a quick dinner during our short vacation. The restaurant was only a few blocks from our hotel, so we figured why not.
I got the pollo and chorizo tacos, he had the steak alambre. I have been to a lot of little hole in the wall Mexican spots, but I say this without any exaggeration: probably the best freaking tacos I have ever had.
The chicken was juicy and incredibly flavorful. My chorizo taco was amazing with only a few sprigs of cilantro. So much flavor in both. I'm used to tacos either having flavor or freshness. Having both kinda blew my mind.
The only thing I'm sad about is that we're from out of town, and will be leaving tomorrow.
Our host was also so incredibly sweet and attentive. I hadn't expected much going in, but this place will be going on my list...
Read moreThought I would try a new place in red wing. Stopped in and right away the smell inside was not appealing. It smelled like someone had bad gas or their toilet was backed up. Customer service was not friendly. The guy at the counter acted like i was bothering him. I asked for a receipt and he sharply said that I would get my receipt when my food was ready... did not get one. I ordered 2 taco platters...14 bucks each and it comes with no drink. The food overall was mediocor. Beans dry no cheese. Rice was bland and was very little, amount wise. The tacos were asada. Meat was dry but the flavor was ok. Tortillas broke. I appreciate the places that double up on tortillas. Prevents breakage. I wasn't impressed, ill stick to rancho or gilibertos for my red...
