My husband and I were in Red Wing for a wedding, unfortunately we arrived a day late. 😕 We decided to make the best of it, since we drove five hours to get there, and take in the town a bit. That's when we discovered this Beautiful old bar with a good vibe. We stopped by for a late lunch and each had one of their delicious hot dogs. The Coney was amazing! My husband had the Chicago and he loved it as well! We took a pizza back to our motel room to enjoy later and I've never had such a great to go pizza! We wanted to enjoy a drink, but the bar at the St. James, where we stayed, and a block from the Barrel House, closed at midnight. I had the special Old Fashioned, it was a decent cocktail, but a little too sweet for me and a little small as well. Now I’m not looking for a rocks glass topped off with whiskey at the bar, but a bit more would have helped justify the cost.
