Country Waffles — Restaurant in Redding

Let's start with the atmosphere. Feels old, decor outdated, wall hooked my wife's shirt. It was noisy, but it has a diner feel. We were tucked in a corner and mostly forgotten about.

Antonio was really nice, but he went on break right after taking our order and his replacement was brusque. Service stars are solely for Antonio, the rest of our experience would've ranked lower. He also sacrificed the timeliness of his break to the point of having to reheat his meal!

When the food finally came out most of it was undercooked and cold. Mexicali Omelette was supposed to have Ortega chili, but it tasted and looked like a spicy tomato paste. Irish Benedict came out with very runny poached eggs and raw corned beef hash. Southern Chic-wich was edible, but eggs were underdone and it was overly difficult to eat. We all got country potatoes, but they were more like boiled potatoes without much seasoning. They did comp the Irish Benedict, but none of us finished our meal. They came back and offered a salad as the Irish Benedict was not eaten at all

Haven't been there for a while so decided to go have breakfast for lunch. While we (2 of us) normally go during morning hours, when the most pleasant staff are there, we went around noon. NOT PLEASED AT ALL with this afternoon staff. No refills on coffee or our iced tea or even asked if we'd like a refill, the gal that sat us didn't offer to get us drinks and had an attitude that she'd rather be anywhere else, our waitress couldn't even crack a pleasant smile. Food was mediocre. But then when I put my card on the table to pay, waitress came by and took it then dissapered as we sat waiting to sign and leave. She came back by to see why we were just sitting there because she apparently forgot she already took my credit card to run over 10 minutes earlier. Sorry to say we won't be going back for a long time but if we do it'll only be in the morning. Hey afternoon wait staff... if you don't like your job or being pleasant to paying customers that don't give you any hassle... then find...

We absolutely had the best experience. Chanika was our server and we watched her not only expo for awhile but be a huge team player. All the condiments were in clean properly cared for containers. The booth was very clean! Not sticky this was awesome. The food was made perfectly and tasted perfect. Every one was very involved and good at their jobs. I saw plenty of motivation and clearly we have a strong compassionate leader in this establishment. Great job everyone. You all deserve recognition. In a world so uncertain I find servers here who certainly go above and beyond. Thanks everybody!

Next visit. Food came out fast. Everything was great. The server hit all of her bases. Including the 2 minute 2 bite check. A very nice lady. It was a birthday lunch and the birthday...
