Fast Weenies — Restaurant in Redding

This is a drive through hut that offers hot dogs and sausages plus a few extras. I got the Louisiana hot link and it was served split and on a bun. The meat was spicy and of decent quality. This would be a great place for artisanal sausages, like chicken with apples or maybe exotic meats like elk or duck. However, I am sure that they know their clientele better than I do. The extra long Casper seems to be the go-to dog here.

I got the Casper with chili, cheese, and onion. I was super excited to finally try this place. I went there on my lunch today. The food tasted good. My complaint is about the packaging. I understand, wanting to save the environment and a penny, but this biodegradable container that they put the hot chili in made it soft instantly. They gave me a spoon to eat this meal with. And the container fit so tightly in the bag that it spilt when I tried to take it out and my spoon went inside of the container. This is enough for me not to go back. Staff is always friendly and speedy with getting the food out. Food is also great! I usually get a hot link Chicago dog style and add lettuce (it’s basically a sandwich at that point, highly recommend) but I saw they recently started making burgers on Fridays! Got one today and I can honestly say that it was the best local burger I’ve had in quite some time. A perfect, classic burger, and a good-sized patty at that....
