Americana Modern Hotel — Hotel in Redding

I can’t say enough great things about the Americana Modern Hotel! Everything about our stay was absolutely top-notch.

First off, the staff… AMAZING! A huge mahalo to Lauren, Tobias, Alva, Heather, and Kevin for always being so accommodating, friendly, kind, and willing to just have a good conversation. It’s folks like you who make a person’s stay feel like a home away from home, and we genuinely appreciate you all for doing that for us!

The hotel is located between two busy streets in downtown Redding, but don’t let that fool you—my husband is an extremely light sleeper, and noise was never an issue. There are lots of places to eat within walking distance, as well as shopping and other things to do. On our first night, we stumbled upon Heavenly Donuts - however, fair warning about this place: you will go back more than once and find yourself thinking about their donuts nonstop!

We were assigned a second-floor room in Building 3, which is on the opposite side of the property from the office. Our room was spotless, incredibly comfortable, and surprisingly quiet. We have six people in our family, so the three-bed suite was a perfect fit for us. The main room has two queens, a nightstand, a desk with a chair, a small wardrobe, a table with four nesting chairs, a mini fridge, microwave, sink, and a Keurig with pods. The other room has a king bed, two nightstands, a desk with a chair, a small wardrobe, and access to a very spacious bathroom.

To my knowledge, the hotel underwent renovations back in 2019, but everything is so nicely updated and exceptionally well-kept that you’d think it was done more recently. And it’s no exaggeration when I say the property is clean. There’s no trash lying around, no landscaping debris, and the building exteriors are spotless. They keep things CLEAN CLEAN.

There is a fair amount of parking available, and we had two cars. On a night when the lot was full, Alva at the front desk was very helpful in finding a space for us to park. For enhanced security, the alleyway running through the center of the property is locked each night, leaving only the main entrance and exit accessible.

The office has a cute little lounge area and offers complimentary bottled water, coffee, and other drinks, as well as a selection of snack bars. Just adjacent to the office is a large outdoor seating area, a laundry room, and an ice machine. There is also a fitness room located downstairs in Building 3, and a “Pup Patio” / seating area directly across from that.

In conclusion, if you are searching for a hotel in Redding, the Americana Modern Hotel is an excellent choice. I would highly recommend them to anyone and would definitely choose to stay...

If I could leave more stars, I would. To the traveler reading this: if you have secured a room with Americana Modern Hotel, consider yourself lucky! And extra lucky if you are a pet owner. This quaint, unique, cozy, clean & conveniently located hotel was my home for almost a month and I can't say enough good things about the fantastic staff, the rooms, the lobby, the courtyard with misters and a fire table, dog area, laundry room & delicious coffee every morning. I so appreciated the wall art, decorative art pieces, uplifting words of wisdom and the decor and overall design in general; procured and selected with care and intention. I loved that there were plenty of tables and seating areas with gorgeous succulents & landscaping everywhere. The water misters were so lovely during the super hot days. With my previous career in real estate I immediately appreciated the overall design of the hotel, attention to the smallest detail; modern and high tech forward yet cozy; as if I was in my own home relaxing in the backyard. Stellar location. I truly felt like this was home away from home. Did I mention that the beds are AhmaZing?!

I was in between homes and stayed at the Americana Modern for almost a month (May of 2024). Due to my own personal uncertainty for the month, I experienced staying in 5 different guest rooms. Beds and bedding are super comfortable and breathable. Water pressure and AC was great no matter the room and very clean. As I was staying more long term, I also appreciated the mini fridge and generous storage space. I even stayed in one of the pet friendly rooms where the floors are not carpeted - genius! Every morning I popped into the lobby to enjoy my fantastic cup of coffee where there is cold water bottles and granola bars available as well.

Location? Stellar. Walking distance to everything you need. Whether you stay for one night or one month. Do check out their breakfast (or any of their menus) at restaurant From The Hearth; delicious food that will feed your soul.

For family reasons over the past few months we had to stop in Redding. It was a mixed bag of good and average to poor hotels and motels until we found The Americana Modern Hotel last week. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, the shower is very roomy and very convenient if you have pets or children. It is like a mini tub. We have a golden retriever and we were welcomed with him at the reasonable rate of $25 per night, which is nothing compared to the scam some hotel chains are running these days, charging 75 or more for a stay, even if only for one night. The floor was concrete (I don’t know if it is the case for rooms not allowing dogs) which is fine if your dog has accidents. Not our case but could be one day. It is really a very nice place, looks very tidy and well maintained, a very pleasant lady staff member greeted us at the front desk, as is she was happy to see us there. Lots of take outs and restaurants around, including Heavenly Doughnuts for a good morning start. (If you like that kind of food). It is a large motel with laundry facilities. I would just suggest that they add a soap dish in the bathroom, but this was the only flaw. We will not stop anywhere else from now on when we travel from Portland to Santa Barbara. Do not hesitate to book, it is, in my view, the best ratio quality hotel room in the area.

Le rapport qualité prix de l’hôtel est, à mon avis, le meilleur de Redding et des alentours. L’hôtel offre beaucoup de chambres ainsi qu’une chambre à lessive. La douche est très sympa, large avec un rebord, vos enfants peuvent s’y prélasser et les chiens peuvent être lavés si nécessaire. Un vrai « deal », ne tentez même pas votre chance ailleurs. Bon...
