Dear Motz's owner - please see my revised review under the one directly below.
I'm sure if I could try them, I'm sure I would like them. I used to go to the original when I lived in Southwest Detroit. But I have yet to be able to go inside, as they have been sold out everyday from opening. They list their hours until 5:45pm. I have been there at 5:00 4:30, 4:00 and today at 3:45. Every time, there is a sign stating - sold out of fresh beef and the door is locked. And there were at least 6 other vehicles there while I was there with more trying to turn in. A piece of advice, know your customers. This is a blue collar, working class neighborhood. Very few of us are around here at lunch time. Most of us get home from work around 5 or 6, and would like to have them for dinner. Please consider grinding more fresh beef for those of us who can't be here in the middle of the day. I think you would be very surprised as to how much business would increase. Most of the folks are getting fed up with showing up to a sign, and locked doors. I would really like to see if they are as good as I remember.

Thank you for responding! I understand how difficult things sometimes can be. I put in this review with the intention of drawing your attention to those of us who are really trying to support you. I have been bragging on you guys, ever since I heard you were coming to our neighborhood. All of my family and friends we're getting tired of me commenting about how great your burgers are. In the old neighborhood if you wanted burgers, you went to Motz's. And if you wanted coneys, you went to Duly's. That was it! And that was because, that's where you could get the very best. Everyone from down there knows this. Trust me when I tell you, I won't give up, as I want nothing more than for you to succeed and flourish. I will be anxiously awaiting the opportunity to be able to patronize your establishment hopefully very soon, and for many years to come!
Best of luck to you and your family...
Read moreWant to give the full five stars but there was one incredibly minor hiccup. Food and was delicious. Between the three of us we ordered a chocolate shake, cheeseburgers, fries, fish sandwich and a chicken sandwich. The shake was not phenomenal but still very good and incredibly thick. So be sure to let that milkshake melt a little before attempting to drink it. The cheeseburgers, chicken and fish sandwiches were fantastic. The fries were fresh but just not my favorite but hey, that is just my personal preference. I did ask for no tartar sauce on the fish sandwich, but they put it on there anyhow. For someone who is not a tartar sauce fan, it was not bad and the fish sandwich was definitely a standout item for me. Love love loved the cheeseburger! The flavor is a bit reminiscent of White Castle, thanks to those perfectly grilled onions. Also, for a slider they are actually a pretty generous size in my opinion.
The staff were friendly, the service was fast and the restaurant was very clean. We chose to dine in but took an order of fries and the chicken burger to go for my husband. They were super kind and offered to hold back the take away order until we finished eating so it was hot and fresh.
We will 100% be back and I will happily change my review provided there are no minor order mistakes and I will try the onion rings instead of ordering fries to give it...
Read moreOkay so... to be fair .. the food isn't exactly what I would call appealing... but the flavors are just about on point. I don't know how they did it, but the fries and shake... taste and look exactly like that of McDonald's. Not alot of people have that. As for the sliders... the meat was faintly pink (undercooked in my opinion for ground beef) on both sliders. The meat itself lacked any flavor. No salt, no pepper, no flavor. The burger buns are completely smushed... I'm not sure if they do that on purpose given it's a small burger joint. The pickles did add flavor to some degree in the burger. Which was good. It's a decent size meal for just under 15$. I would definitely compare it to McDonald's and not an actual restaurant in terms of food. The parking lot is clean and abundant. The inside is very well kept. Although the place looks small on the outside, it is roomy on the inside with lots of space to sit or stand. The cooking line is right up and open next to the registers and front. So you get to see them cooking and honestly it is very clean. I would go again and do recommend. I would just ask for seasoning on the meat and for it to be cooked all...
