Alberto's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Redlands

I hate to leave such a negative star review on a restaurant that cooks such DELICIOUS food, but unfortunately, I did get food poisoning here once (the Redlands, Orange st location). The upside is, that we frequently attended the restaurant MANY times in the previous 8 years, or so, and never had a problem (aside from the common old spicy food issues that accompany any time your stomach decides to punish you for eating any food you aren't accustomed to eating on a regular basis). BUTT, (pun intended), THIS bought of food poisoning, was NOT your atypical, run of the mill type, where you spend hours in the bathroom, only to roll around in your bed in between for the following 4-6 hours, at the most, after it hits. This was the type of food poisoning where my teenagers almost physically lifted me against my will, to take me to the emergency room after the third day of vomiting and diarrhea, unable to keep any even liquid down, and had me in and out of consciousness for about a week!! I'm one of those people who would rather chew on broken shards of glass than put my life in the hands of a doctor, or I definitely would have gone in IMMEDIATELY when the symptoms hit, and I battled with whether or not I should leave this review (as it happened almost a year ago), and my kids still eat there, on occasion, (but NEVER order ANYTHING with chicken in it, after that), but I figured I'd at least give a warning about the chicken there, (and it might not even be their fault, as it could have arrived at their restaurant tainted), but given how sick it made me (and aside from missing an entire week of work, and appointments, I'm pretty sure I could have lost my life if I hadn't been in pretty good shape at the time), it doesn't matter HOW it got there, it just matters that it got there, and into me. So sorry, Alberto's, but maybe there's a way to test for bacteria in your meats before you receive them, or for CERTAIN before you serve them! Oh, and if you're wondering how I know it was Alberto's? I'm SUPER busy, and many days (including this one), only eat one meal in the evening, and this was the only meal I'd eating since the previous morning (out timing any chance, even a 24 hour case of food poisoning could have been the culprit). This also lead our family to a very positive dietary change in our lives, as we are now all vegan! Some very good things can come from some pretty bad...

My gorgeous wife and I stopped at Alberto's Mexican Food for a quick dinner. We ordered the rolled tacos, also known as tacquitos, with guacamole, Spanish rice and beans, plus carne asada street tacos, with everything on them, and a drink, which came with the taco order. I was not enthusiastic about the few knots in the carne asada, but overall it was okay. The serving size was plenty, and my wife and I split both orders. The food was well seasoned, hot and served promptly. The server was courteous and professional. The dining area was clean and well kept. The restrooms also tell a story about a restaurant. It is located in the rear and was just as clean and presentable as the dining area. It's always nice and refreshing to go to a fast food joint and get good food and dine there in surroundings that are pleasant. I can't say this is the case with all fast food restaurants. Tuesday, October 6, 2020 ordered a chicken burrito with beans and cheese and I was given a chicken burrito with cheese only, it wouldn't have been so bad if the chicken at least taste good, I doubt that it was seasoned. Took two bites, the second only to add the salsa, which was also flavorless. This is the second time that I have gone there and was unhappy with the food and I only went a second time to give them an opportunity because I have gone several times before when female server took my orders and the food was good, but these last couple of times (and I do mean last) the man taking orders were impatient, not into good customers service and clearly wasn't interested in taking the correct order, and and the food?
