Our previous experiences were exceptional. We've recommended the restaurant to other travelers. The GPS showed us arriving 4 minutes after our reservation, so we called ahead. By the time the phone was answered, we were parking. The young lady seemed confused speaking to my wife. Upon entering, we, and others entering after us were made to wait approximately 10 minutes in the doorway. The young lady recalled speaking to my wife. We walked in exactly 4 minutes after our planned reservation. Although we had reservations, we were seated otherwise and informed that others, who weren't present had a "preferred seating reservation" and that we would have to wait 15 minutes, and if they didn't show, we would be allowed to sit in the bar area. This, after standing on hold for roughly 10 minutes at the entrance with others while the young lady told everyone who walked in to "give me a minute". Once upstairs, we were quickly forgotten. So, I walked downstairs to ask the young lady that just seated us, why we couldn't be sit in the bar area. She explained she didn't have any open tables (but there were 3) and that I would have to wait because someone else had reservations and they requested special seating. She asked, "Why, do you want to sit down", I said yes. Seeking understanding, I asked, in the future, would it be best to make this request ahead of time as I had not done so on previous reservations. She said yes, you need to leave a note or call us ahead of time so we can reserve the table. I apologized and said "Ok", as I didn't know this. I informed her that I have a reservation and I'd added a note, that we were celebrating my sister's birthday. She seemed confused and said, "Wait what? You have a reservation? What's your name?" I gave it to her, and said you just sat us in the empty room. She looked up my name and replied, "Oh yeah, I thought you just walked in off the street, we're expecting someone who's not here yet, so we'll give them 5 minutes and if they don't come, give me a few minutes and I'll see about moving you. You can wait upstairs. I'll come up there." First, I eventually went back upstairs. Shortly after, she arrived to relocate us. Some time went by, and we noticed that other groups who came after us were getting their drinks and appetizers before our waitress came over. She didn't introduce herself, rather she just asked what we wanted to drink. I needed something to calm me down, by now almost an hour has passed and we're watching everyone who's come in well after us have their drinks rushed to them. When I finally received my drink, you could see the separation of water and everything else. I basically drank flavored melted ice. The Ahi in the Nachos were partly crunchy. Our halibut was well over cooked & tough. The Brussels weren't throughly cooked at all (but we ate them). The lobster in the lobster-n-mac was chewy, and our waitress was not personable at all. Faux friendly, but not personable. It felt like we were a bother to everyone except the guy who placed the appetizers on the table. He was great. My sister's birthday meal was a disaster. The previous teams were amazing. Those we interacted with tonight weren't. This is literally a memory I wish I could somehow make my sister forget. Especially after all the great things we told her about the restaurant. We never presented a negative attitude about the situation. In fact, I asked our waitress how the days was going; I genuinely wanted to understand. It was my way of giving the benefit of the doubt. As I told my wife, maybe it's a new team or maybe they had a serious rush or maybe they had call-outs or no-shows....
Read moreThis is not one of your ordinary neighborhood steakhouse specially when it comes to their food and specially the warm kind service. Inside is very nice, warm and cozy place to spend time with your love ones. The ambience inside the restaurant is right on the spot. If you have a date, first time or not, this is a perfect place to bring that special person, or the whole family.
We started with an appetizer. I ordered the Ahi Mango Nachos and Calamari. The Calamari is cooked to perfection. The outside is crispy and inside is tender. The cocktail sauce is made in house and just has the right horseradish spice to it. The Ahi Manho Nachos is a unique one. I haven't had this before. It is chunks of avocado, mango and ahi tuna on top of a large crispy nacho chips drizzled with wasabi mayo sauce.
Our side dishes are Lobster Mac and cheese, Thyme mushrooms, mashed potatoes and crispy brussels sprouts. The Lobster Mac and cheese has the right balance of cheese and butter. It doesn't have a tremendous amount of cheese unlike a traditional mac n cheese so you can also taste the butter, chunky lobsters is generous in serving. The Thyme mushrooms has the right saltiness and the thyme compliments it. The mashed potatoes is done right. It is not chunky but it is not mushy either. Crispy brussels sprouts is a bomb. It fried to crisp and I can tell it has a balsamic vinegar to it. It is sweet and tangy.
Main dish are Ribeye steak and Filet Gorgonzola pasta. Ribeye steak is cooked right as I ordered it. It has a crispy char on the outside and juicy and cooked the way I ordered it. The Filet Gorgonzola Pasta is very delicious too. The steak, ai believe it is a filet mignon, was cooked the way we ordered it. The pasta sauce has blue cheese on it.
Desserts, we ordered their cream brulee and chocolate cake.with vanilla ice cream. The cream brulee is so delicious. Crispy sugar top and the chocolate cake is well paired with vanilla ice cream. And desserts are paired very well with their own brewed house coffee.
I also tried their Manhattan Mule cocktail and it was done right. Joshua is the bartender and also our server. Service is top notch. Kaden is the one who brought all our food. And Carlos came by to check on us on how the food is.
It is very rare to get this kind of 100% satisfaction specially on a Valentine's day very busy night but this place managed to accomplished everything. I can tell they are very busy but still manage to give the best service.
I highly recommend this place. Bring your family and friends to this place and I promise you, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED! Their Steaks are from Colorado and it is a Prime steaks. Also, I am a big supporter of local restaurants like this one. Small businesses that are targeted by the hypocrisy of California government officials. It is time to help these...
Read moreI have been here several times in the past and cannot say I was wowed, but it was a nice steakhouse in the neighborhood. Last night was the exception that made me decide to leave a review: in a rather empty first floor, we were sat next to the kitchen; so close that we were able to hear all the conversations of the cook staff, including a cat-call at one of the servers. That noise, seasoned with silverware being washed and the muzak version of the Doors' classic Light My Fire, made for an unfortunate atmosphere for dining. We came out for my mother's birthday and made mention of this when we had made our reservations. While I did not expect a slice of cake or to have the restaurant sing, a happy birthday greeting from the server would have been nice. Our bread was either very stale or very over-baked, but the garlic butter made it palatable. The ordering process was simple enough, and our server took our orders without any troubles. The food came out to us within a very reasonable wait and looked amazing. Our steaks and parmesian fries were absolutely buried in arugula; potentially, they had extra in the kitchen and needed to get rid of it? My mother's yellowtail appeared to be undercooked, and one slice appeared to be frozen (her observation in the dimly lit dining room). Our drinks spent most of the evening empty for reasons I do not know. I would hope it was only that it was a slow night and they were understaffed, so smaller details like that get overlooked. The meal was pleasant and, when present, our server was very kind. This experience was an anomaly, as our other visits were excellent. We will be back, but we will take a little time off before visiting again.
Update 11/14/2024: I went to Greensleeves last night for my birthday. My wife made mention of our celebration, and while we weren't expecting balloons and confetti, a happy birthday would have been nice. Second time in recent memory where celebrations are ignored by the staff. Our food was good and came out at a reasonable wait, but as is typical a medium rare steak came out medium: we have noticed this is par for the course at this restaurant so we will adjust and start ordering rare in hopes a similar reaction will net a medium rare. The staff was courteous and kind and quick to refill our glasses. Good experience, but after another celebratory snub, we will take a break...
