I decided to try Emerson due to the 5 star rating. My husband and I went in to check the place out and see if I wanted to get my ring sized and appraised. Kim helped us right away, answered all out questions without hesitation. We felt that it was an inviting environment and trustworthy as well. I decided to leave my ring even though the time frame to get it done was a little longer than I wanted. Fast forward a week and I call to ensure my ring was ready before going in and was informed that it was not. I was not expecting that so it was upsetting to me, Kim let me know that she would call me back with more information. To be honest I was ready to pick up my ring and go somewhere else then I was contacted by their manager Kyle. He was very respectful and wanted to hear out my concerns and he informed me of the situation that caused the delay, which was completely out of their hands, yet never tried to push off the ownership of my experience. Once I was in full understanding of the situation I was no longer upset. Kyle never once seemed in a rush and I could tell he was genuinely concerned about me being satisfied with their work and service. I was contacted by Kyle himself to let me know my ring was ready and was super excited, I went in to pick it up and it came out absolutely beautiful! They also took care of my husbands ring which he wears to work so it was super grimey, it cane out looking brand new! Kim was there again to assist us and we had an amazing experience. I want to point out that they really did not "need" to give me their time and attention because I brought in jewelry I already owned so it was not even to make a sale. Kim took it upon herself to bring my case to Kyle's attention which also amazed me. In the end Emerson has gained a loyal, long time customer and I will no longer purchase anywhere else. Thank you Kim,...
Read moreHad a rather bad experience with this firm at their Redlands CA store in April, 2015. Brought in my Omega Speedmaster Co-Axial Chronometer to have the bracelet sized to fit my wrist. The snooty suit guy leaning against the counter, when I inquired about minor watch service, asked me if my watch was "real" or a fake. I told him to look at the back as it has a clear sapphire back showing the movement. As a result of the crappy attitude from Mr. Snoot Suit, I wrote a factual account of my experience in their 'rate-your-experience' section on their prior website detailing virtually everything that happened during my visit, including the use of an incorrect type & size of screwdriver on the links of my Omega resulting in the 'buggering' of several of the screws used in the bracelet. My comments about the crappy attitude & the poor service on an $8K watch lasted about ten days then was deleted from said site. I guess that honest comments about p**s-poor experiences aren't allowed about such an "outstanding bastion of snobbery". I noticed that the only watches that the Redlands store carried were "Shinola" brand, "assembled in...
Read moreMy wife found a photo of an old Edwardian necklace that she loved but which had already been sold. I looked around for similar pieces on estate and auction sites but couldn't find anything quite right.
I stumbled on Van Craeynest jewelry (which I think is a subsidiary of Emerson) as I was doing research, and was intrigued that they did die-struck pieces, so I asked if they had anything similar. Paul Emerson responded, indicating no, but that they could potentially do it as a custom piece.
Paul managed the entire process and the result is exquisite, as you can see. When my wife first saw it, she thought I had found the original necklace from the photo :)
Paul went back and forth with his designer to ensure the distinctive elements of the original were preserved.
The entire process was done online -- a bit unnerving to not be able to touch what you're buying, but Paul did a brilliant job and I have complete faith in the Emerson team now that they don't settle for "good enough."
It's truly an heirloom piece that we will...
