Where do I even start? The Tartan Restaurant is nothing short of exceptional—a perfect blend of style, comfort, and top-notch service. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we felt transported to a place that beautifully balanced sophistication with warmth. The atmosphere is stunning, with striking red leather chairs and booths that evoke a classic yet modern vibe. It reminded us so much of home in Los Angeles, bringing a touch of nostalgia to our night out.
Our server, Matt, was the true highlight of the evening. Fast, funny, and full of charisma, he brought an energy to our experience that made it unforgettable. He wasn’t just a server; he felt like a friend who genuinely cared about making our night special. His impeccable timing and charm ensured every detail of our meal was seamless.
When it came to drinks, Matt’s expertise shone. As a self-proclaimed margarita aficionado, I have high standards, but the margarita he delivered was hands down the best I’ve ever had. It was perfectly balanced—refreshing, smooth, vibrant, and most importantly, strong. My girlfriend, who rarely enjoys cocktails, found her first-ever favorite drink thanks to Matt’s recommendation: a lemondrop martini with a raspberry twist. She couldn’t stop raving about it.
This was more than just a dinner; it was a much-needed escape from the chaos of parenting—a rare opportunity for a romantic date night. Matt and the entire Tartan experience gave us a chance to unwind, reconnect, and enjoy every moment.
The Tartan provided more than just an incredible meal and atmosphere—it gave us the chance to truly reconnect. Away from the usual hustle of parenting, we found ourselves laughing, talking, and enjoying each other’s company in a way that felt refreshing and intimate. Matt’s charm and the cozy, nostalgic vibe of the restaurant set the perfect tone for us to relax and focus on one another. Sharing those amazing drinks and savoring the moment reminded us of why we make time for date nights like this. The Tartan wasn’t just a night out—it was a place where we came closer, leaving with full hearts and even fuller appreciation for each other.
If you’re looking for a place that combines impeccable service, a welcoming atmosphere, and unforgettable drinks, the Tartan is it. Thanks to our server Matt and the incredible team, our night was absolutely perfect. We can’t wait to return for more memories and, of course, another round of those...
Read moreI've worked at the Tartan as The Chef and although that was nearly 30 years ago, I continued to frequent as a customer. The new owners made many changes some very necessary and for the better and some changes not so necessary and in my opinion terrible. My only problem now is the very reason a restaurant exists The FOOD. The new menu is TERRIBLE . The quality has hit an all time Low . I could understand adding new choices and even removing some that were not popular or viable. But this menu literally has about 5 or so choices that are from the original menu that had been the same since the late 1960's . I guess time changed things and I'm getting old . The Tartan was always a place that felt like home to me , a place that stood the test of time. I no longer feel that way. The atmosphere and decor feel right but the menu is just so foreign to me and my memories of a place I literally called home ... Reviews I have read seemed like first time guests like it very much and that is positive. I wish The Owner all the prosperity and longevity that The Original owner Larry Westen had . I am a part of this place a small piece of it's...
Read moreFirst, I love the atmosphere. It's red leather rolling armchairs and booths, dark wood panel walls, candles on the table, warm and cozy, that kind of vibe. I was looking for Norm and Cliff at the bar 😉 The servers are on the ball, and make great recommendations. The drinks are excellent! I ordered a vodka/cran, nothing fancy, but their well vodka was nice and smooth.
For a starter, we ordered the fried green beans; delicious! Nice, light batter, served with homemade ranch. For dinner, I ordered the pork chop, spinach, and mashed potatoes. I can't tell you which was better, the pork chop or the spinach. Both were absolutely delicious! Thick, juicy, perfectly seasoned, the pork chop was really good. And so large, I had the second half for lunch the next day. Now the spinach (not even the Spinach Linda, which sounds even better) was equally delicious! It was still a little crisp, had lots of garlic and seasoning; I ate it all and wanted more! I did save room for dessert though, and I'm glad I did. The creme brulee was really good, nice and creamy. And a good size to share.
I can't wait to...
