[ Update Dec 21 2023 - We did go back before heading home, 2 more times to this restaurant with a 3rd time for carryout dessert. Sweet sticky rice with coconut ice cream and fried banana with caramel desserts were both amazingly light and delicious as well.🍮 ]
On Thursday, after walking back from dinner, we stopped in this cute little place to ask their hours and to look at their menu for perhaps a different night. A very welcoming young man, Nes, gave us a tour of the menu. Hours are 1130am to 9pm, with the last order taken at 830pm. Also we asked someone who was picking up a carry out, if they frequently eat there and she said yes & that the food is always excellent and fresh. Agreed !!!
So here we were, trying it out the next evening. Again, Nes was there who was so genuinely happy to see us return. He was so very welcoming, polite & gave us excellent service. This place is small, peaceful & relaxing with a small outside patio that is also very inviting. We felt like Nes was welcoming us over for dinner, just a very pleasant experience. The food was very fresh, nicely presented and quickly prepared. I ordered a mixed vegetables plate and added chicken and my boyfriend had drunken noodles with duck. Everything was amazing, so fresh and deliciously mouthwatering. The prices are also very reasonable. This place is really a hidden gem that I almost want to keep hidden....but I also want them to flourish in business because they deserve it with the care they display in preparing the food and the grateful & humble service they provide.
I should also say, I am now a fan of Thai food which I wasn't before visiting. Both dishes we tried were not spicy, I am quite the wimp when it comes to spicy food.
We will be returning to try appetizers, more entrees and dessert before going back home to Michigan. Honestly I could eat here every day before we leave and I am so thankful to have discovered this beautiful restaurant.
Even the green tea was also very...
Read moreI ordered the pineapple fried rice and it was unedible-I had only 4 bites. It tasted similar to excessive cayenne and black pepper mixed. I have ordered this rice dish at many other thai restaurants and have never tasted any hot peppery taste like this. It was NOT a flavorful spicy kick- it was just cayenne peppery tasting. Since I ordered through delivery I called the manager to let her know, thinking maybe chef accidentally sprinkled wrong spice and that she would want to know.
She didn't care at all. She said their restaurant doesn't use sugar because it isn't healthy and maybe I am used to other restaurants who use alot of sugar to give flavor. Again, it wasn't that it wasn't sweet enough-I would've eaten it if it was just that it was less sweet than I like--the problem was NO flavor except cayenne/black pepper.
The female manager's attitude was as bad...
Read moreCalled my order in in Saturday evening, the gentleman helping me was very kind and cool, I had literally parked outside to call order in, place is a bit on the small side but still cool spot! Popped in 10min later and food was ready. Also ordered a large Thai tea, which are always typically super sweet, so we just water it down and boom, now you have 2 Thai teas for price of one. And Healthier, who knew. So recently coming from thailand, I can say that this was equivalent, if not better than out there, there coconut soup is The BEST! Paired with some white rice, boom. As you can tell from the pic, I devoured pad-sea-ew, which was a little overdone but still good! Come check...
