Marty's Steakhouse — Restaurant in Reedsburg

Marty's has good food in a relaxed Old-Time supper-club atmosphere. SO, WHY ONE STAR??? Absolutely the rudest, nastiest treatment I have ever received at any business anywhere! (And I'm from Chicago!) On two separate occasions, the waitress added charges for sauce and toppings (never mentioned when ordering), which I questioned her on. The response was unbelievable! She left and stalked back with a revised bill, which kept the charges, and actually ADDED an 18% gratuity on top of it all (for a party of three). The manager was of no help when I talked to her, as she gave excuses about how difficult it is to hire staff during Covid. I certainly can understand that, but, pandemic or no, there is NO EXCUSE to treat a civil customer in the demeaning manner I endured at Marty's. I am left to deduce this operation may resent non-Locals patronizing their business, so I'll oblige by never darkening their...

My husband and I were out of town looking for a good dinner and Marty's popped up with fairly good reviews...so we decided to go ....the building is older but that doesn't scare me , we walk in and in the hallway is 3 laundry appliances kinda wierd . We approach the restaurant area and it's a fairly long line trying to get checked in and I notice no one is younger then 65 but us and the servers ....we should of turned around then it was like a geriatric nightmare.....we opted for the seafood buffet because at this point I was scared what would come out of the kitchen and I was trying not to piss my husband off by saying I wanted to leave....anyways it was all terrible..frozen food to the fryer with a fishy taste , instant mash , tasteless gravey , wierd cinnamon bread and honey butter maybe a texas roadhouse knock off , not good....ordered 2 dirty martinis , sent them back ...just don't go...

I went there 3 times and the food was cold each time in the buffet . The lady blamed it on the door opening and closing but the door is half way across the building... So i did a test. As soon as some new fish came out i put a piece in my mouth ( while at the buffet , i know shame on me) and it was cold. I think it sits in back in a warmer until it is ready to go out and as we all know if it is too hot it drys out so my guess is the warmer is just barely warm. The non seafood was good, ribs were good. Sadly you are paying for seafood buffet so the price reflects that. Waitstaff is minimal so ask for everything you need when you see them or it will be a wait. I would go just for the ribs if i was alone but the rest of my family needs to eat hot food......
