There are several things going on at this location that make it worth passing up. At the moment, they are finalizing construction on the new Cracker Barrel, so that definitely creates an extra inconvenience when navigating the area. The bigger issue is the amount of drive thrus they mashed together in this small area. Be very careful coming in and out of the driveways and parking lots. You have people zooming out of the drives thrus, not paying attention.
Now onward to the actual restaurant. My commentary is for this location and most other Chipotles. I will start by saying that I do enjoy the food, I wouldn't go if I didn't love the finished product. BUT something happened to Chipotle where every location is understaffed. I walked through the front door after the lunch rush and was greeted by a line of 15 people... at 2pm. The line was not moving. There was one person running the register, one person running the in restaurant serving line, and one person on the online to go orders. The person running the in restaurant serving line was running back and forth from the back, trying to refill all the missing items in the little metal holding containers. And that area was an absolute abomination beans, meat juice, rice, sauces splashed and caked all over the area where the metal containers are and where they place the bowls they fill to hand to customers. Once you get up to the front of the line, you kinda have to choose from whatever is left. I was handed a bowl that was covered in stains and food from orders past.
I immediately looked for napkins to clean my hands off. That's when I realized that I would be eating with a spoon because there were no forks. I went to get a drink, I like the lemonade, and I saw that all the Aguas frescas were all dry except for the regular lemonade that had enough to fill just my regular sized drink cup. I tapped it out, AND the lemonade was room temp and ever so slightly warm. Shudder. I then went to find a table, and every single table was filthy. Not just dirty, they were covered in food and smudges. I had to brush off food from the seat I decided to sit on and just accept that I was going to eat on the bag that they put my food in. Oh, yes, there were no napkins, so I used my Chipotle food bag as a napkin.
My last stop was the restroom. I couldn't leave without washing my hands. It didn't get better in there. The toilet paper dispenser was empty. Someone had left a single toilet paper roll on top of the toilet. There was trash and debris around the toilet. The sink was no better. It's not a sanitary situation at all.
It looked like a hurricane hit this Chipotle from top to bottom. Maybe this was just a bad day, but I've been to all the other Chipotle in Reno, and this is par for the course. Expect long lines, dirty counters, missing items on the menu that can't be refilled in a timely manner, and unclean tables.
My one request for all Chipotle is that when they are slammed inside their restaurants, they need to turn off their online/ pickup orders. It handicaps them to the point that there are lines out the door, and I take one glance inside and don't bother. I've seen customers engage in almost physical violence because they can't get their orders in a timely and orderly manner. If this environment doesn't feel great for a customer, I can't imagine what it feels like to work there. You have a line of 15 plus hungry and eventually angry/ frustrated customers staring at you. Please figure out how to restaurant again, Chipotle. You were awesome...
Read moreI had an awful experience there, the prices were really really expensive for two burritos and chips it was $30 which is just crazy comic book the worst part was the employees they were not at all happy to be there and I had got a free side of guacamole and the guy who was preparing it for me to put it in a little cup had the same gloves on that he'd been wearing doing all kinds of other things and the guacamole was being difficult for him so he had to use his hands with a dirty glove on to scoop the stuff in there that had fallen out on the side and he got one napkin and tried to half ass wipe it down and the entire container was covered in guacamole and it got everywhere and the girl who rang me up was touching my food and all the money and never changed her gloves once she was putting my stuff in the bag and the chips and everything with her hands knowing that she had not changed her gloves after taking cash knowing that and that also the other guys hands were used to scoop it in there I couldn't even eat it it was just really unsanitary I watch them and he did not change his gloves I don't feel like it's my place to have to tell people how to be sanitary I shouldn't have to do that that was absolutely disgusting and I spent so much money on food that I couldn't even eat grossed out by it I wanted to love it but I just couldn't I just kept thinking what else did they touch and due to the food that's not sanitary it was really unfortunate to spend so much money on something that I...
Read moreI LOVE Chipotle. I was excited that one opened near my house, but I must have bad luck because it is the worst chipotle I've been to. The place is a mess. Always. I mean disgusting. I'll attach photos of the main areas from today. I didn't want to be rude and take photos of the food assembly area with staff right in front of me, and wasn't about to take my camera out in the bathroom, but WOW always an absolute mess. My family has a running joke where we say "place your bets! What will chipotle be out of this time?" I estimate they are out of something I want nearly 90% of the time. Off the top of my head they have been out of: chicken, taco shells, forks, cilantro, white rice, chicken again, sour cream, Tabasco, and tortillas. All different occasions. Not too long ago we got burritos about an hour before closing. When we got home we found that the rice was uncooked, like break your teeth uncooked. We went the next day, receipt in hand and explained what happened. The guy looked extremely irritated, acted like we were lying, rolled his eyes, and had a long line so he "let it slide" because he was too busy to "deal with us" and gave us replacements. No apology, no "thanks for coming back", no manners. I don't know who runs this place, if it's a franchise or corporate or what, but I hope the review is a wake up call to them. I have always loved chipotle but I leave this location disappointed almost every...
