10/27/24 Update: We used our "Golden ticket" yesterday to give this Cracker Barrel another chance since we were in town running errands and I will say they redeemed themselves. Although it will take future visits to determine whether the excellent service was due to the golden ticket or they have truly stepped their game up but I was truly impressed with the service and food quality this visit and am happy to bring my rating up to a 4 star from a 1 and if service like this continues, I will gladly raise it to a 5.
Edit: The Assistant Manager Will did come to us while browsing the store side after our meal and paying and stating to the cashier we would not be interested in their rewards sign up do to this being the second time we have had such a bad experience at my favorite chain of restaurants (meaning Cracker Barrel in general as I am from the East Coast and there is one on every corner there).
He approached me and was genuinely apologetic and stated that he had spoken to the waiter as well. He offered us a chance to make it right and we will accept that offer when we have the chance since we drive up from Carson to go to Cracker Barrel (previously we would seriously drive to Roseville,CA for Cracker Barrel this is how much we love Cracker Barrel) so it is not an every week or even month thing.
However we will give this location another chance with Will approaching us with humility and genuine apologies.
Although we truly appreciate the sentiment... we will wait to change our review until we have received the proper service ALL customers deserve. What truly set me off was the fact our waiter was so worried about flirting and doing it in plain sight. Otherwise... I probably would have just let it all slide again... but again we just feel like all customers should be treated like first class not like an after thought as we were.
Thank you Will for approaching me as that took some stones considering you could have just let us shop and walk. I know finding good people is hard to find as I too am a manager of a major chain (different industry) but hopefully this employees learns that people are always watching.
Cheers, John Currently sitting in this restaurant with the second, worst Cracker Barrel experience we've had here.
First no biscuits or corn bread. Our waiter said it's is by request only. Funny the table next to us with a waiter in training had biscuits at their table without asking. Our God awful waiter, DJ, who has been more busy flirting with a fellow blonde colleague in a black mask rather than serving us. Empty drinks. He forgets our fried pickle appetizer (same thing happened the first time we came).
Not only this... they come out forever after our order to tell me what ai wanted wasnt available.
Garbage...

When we walked in, it was brightly lit and stocked with gifts and souvenirs. It was not busy at all and the hostess even made mention that we came at a good time.
After being seated, we waited almost 15 mins before our server came to our table. She did apologize and said her section got switched and that she didn't know. Since we had a good amount of time to look at the menu we were ready to order drinks and food right away. We both went with the build your own breakfast--it was really appreciated that our server helped point out ways to save money building both of our breakfasts. I built a trio meat combo (bacon, sausage patty, and sugar cured ham), over medium eggs, biscuits and gravy, and fried apples. My friend got the same with the exception of loaded hashbrown casserole with cheese and bacon instead of fried apples and a side of pancakes. My eggs, bacon, and fried apples were really good. However, I felt both me and my friend's sausage patty and ham were over cooked. Also, both of us agreed that the biscuits and gravy was underwhelming as the gravy was pretty bland--not that yummy peppery taste it usually has. Also, our server forgot our biscuits and gravy and we had to ask about it. My friend loved his pancakes and said it's one of the better pancakes he's had lately.
What I will say is, at the end of our breakfast our server acknowledged her service and mistakes and apologized and said thank you for waiting. I can totally appreciate a sincere apology as we all have off days. It was the overcooked meat that was the disappointment, which was not our servers fault. And no, I did not complain or say anything because I hate being...
Read moreFirst time ever at a Cracker Barrel and sadly one of the most disappointing breakfasts I've ever paid for. First off, I get that it was a busy Labor Day and they had to help two large families before seating me and my husband, but to not even greet us or acknowledge us with a simple "excuse us while we help some big parties" while we waited at the hostess podium seemed a bit sloppy. Other than that the waitresses were kind and attentive so kudos to them. As for the food, I ordered the country fried steak grandpas breakfast and my husband ordered the biscuit benedict. Part of the reason I'm even writing this review is because the food was so flavorless to the point where I couldn't ignore the mediocrity. Their prices are cheap but I guess that means spices and seasonings cost extra? The fact is that I needed A1 steak sauce to supplement the lack of flavor in the gravy. The soggy casserole hash browns are a cop out to making real crispy griddle hash browns. The scrambled eggs portion size was supposed to be two eggs worth but I definitely got one egg's worth. My husband's eggs benedict barely had any hollandaise sauce and also lacked flavor. He got a side of the fried apples and that by far was the most disappointing. Bland and swimming in a flavorless liquid with a whisper of cinnamon. The only good thing that we ordered were the biscuit beignets which were also super sugary. We spent around $35 eating a whole lotta nothing. It pains me to write this because I love southern food but this franchise gives a bad name to country cooking. I would pay more money for actual seasoning! Don't waste your time here unless you need flavorless cheaply made food. No amount of bells n whistles you can buy at the store makes up for below average eating. We won't be...
