Wednesday morning, 4:58am, they open at 5am. I pull up to DoughBoys deciding to switch from Starbucks today and spread some money their way. I watch from my SUV the two employees behind the counter chatting, thinking that they saw my headlights and will change the CLOSED sign to OPEN. Nothing. I get out and decide to stand next to my SUV in front of the door, thinking that this will get them moving to unlock the door and open. Nothing. Wait, they do look my way, but continue to chat with eachother. I look at my cell phone to check the time, 5am. The dark hair employee makes a move, but it is to the area where the donuts are being made. The blonde employee makes a move, my way. Finally. I remain at the side of the SUV so as not to appear to anxious while she unlocks the door. Yes, that is all she did. She left the sign still on the CLOSED side and walked back toward the counter. Now, lets look at this store as being a neighboor down the street that is expecting you over any minute. Your knock on the neighbors door, they answer by unlocking the door and not opening it and greeting you with a cheerful GOOD MORNING, how are you, but instead, turn their back return to what they were doing before you interrupted them. They know you will walk in and make yourself at home. No, not me. I got back into my SUV, backed up and as I was pulling away, glanced toward the store only to see the blonde employee behind the counter looking my way with a puzzled look on their face as if to say" Was it something I said?" No, actually it was because you seem to think we need you more than you need us. Maybe it won't matter, but one customer lost until I see a sign that says" Under New...
Read moreFor the 3rd time in 4 months, different people, I’ve received the worst service. Am I missing something here? I used to buy donuts at this location all the time years ago, before moving out of state, and have now come back. The 3 times that I’ve been back., it’s been terrible service. Why are the people behind the counter so unfriendly, like, it’s a huge bother to them that I’m there to buy donuts? It’s interesting that it’s been the same bad service on 3 different occasions, back to back, involving different people.
I live close to Midtown, so it’s not like I’m super close, but I won’t waste my time anymore. Pretty sure there’s other donut shops that are just as good or even better.
And for the issue at hand, the feeling I got on the different days that I’ve been here is almost as if this place just hires, angry, unhappy people. My first visit after moving back to Reno, it was an elderly female that was helping me. The second time it was a teenage female that was helping me. It was a young man that waited on me today.
I used to really miss Doughboy Donuts when we lived in Texas, but in reality, this place is a dime a dozen and as long as you go early enough, you can get fresh donuts and your corner donut shop. My point being poor service isn’t worth...
Read moreGood donuts, but holy heck is the staff (mostly drive through) rude. Why are you putting the people who can't hear anything and then get mad when they get the order wrong on the drive through? When I go in usually it's ok, but the drive through has always been a terrible experience. I've been yelled at for ordering after being greeted at the drive through telling me to wait. Then the next time I wait and I get yelled at asking if I'm planning on ordering. It's obvious they can't hear anything through the microphone and shouldn't use it at all. I order something off of the menu (1 doz raised assorted donuts) and I get something different (1 doz glazed plain). I even corrected the person working the window and was still given the wrong order. It's on my way to work so I usually grab for the office, but it looks like I'm going to have to go out of my way a bit. I won't be back. There are other places where maybe the donuts aren't as good but I don't get treated...
