The Human Bean — Restaurant in Reno

The Human Bean was our go to spot. Quality of service and product topped any local Starbucks. We go out of our way to stop by the Human Bean since there is none close to where we live in NW Reno. One day recently we went through the drive thru like normal, ordered our drink and since they did not offer whipped cream like normal, we asked to have than added to our drink. We were told to tell them at the window. Weird, but ok. I gave my payment and reminded the person for the whipped cream. I don't think she heard me so I reminded again. When they handed me the drink without whipped cream, I very politely asked for whipped cream. The Barista then started to yell at us about the need to tell them to add whipped cream. She was very rude about the whole situation and spent all of 5 seconds to add whipped cream. Needless to say, we were in complete shock over the way we were treated. I expect this low lever of service at many other places in town, but certainly never had this from the Human Bean. I decided to no escalate anything further, having worked in the service industry, I know nothing good would have come of that. I accepted my drink, said thank you and drove off. The entire experience left such a bad taste in our mouth, we couldn't even finish the drinks and pretty much ruined out day. Is the Human Bean falling in the poor customer service trap that we experience at most places around Reno? Lately we have been going to another coffee shop much closer to us. To say the Human Bean failed is an understatement...

I wouldn't say it's better than Starbucks.. it's just as good but different u know 🤔 I love it. I love coffee ☕ seven 11 has blueberry flavored coffee!!! And I get it every once in a while because it's more available and conveniently close but yes I'm rooting for these guys because places like Starbucks are fully established already the coffee is great. I always prefer iced. But I love me classic hot as well. The matcha iced latte is bomb 💣 they have delicious whipped cream and I've also tried there pumpkin flavor it delicious...they got a muddy whatever that is lol 😂 but it's definitely good.. I don't know everything about coffee I'm really a novice but it's definitely good. I need to try there blueberry 🫐 and chocolate muffins... It's both blueberry and chocolate... I don't know why I haven't tried it lol but it's haunting me as I write ✍️ this review.. it's probably good like Starbucks banana nut...

Honest review: Would rate 5 but...within the last month or so the customer service has gone down... Everyone is really friendly, and this shop has a great atmosphere overall..however, I've had my orders messed up the last 3 visits which is really disappointing...Especially considering this was one of my favorite go to coffee spots in town.... If this hadn't reoccured on multiple occasions now my review would be different... Check your orders...😓😔 alot of times they forget stir sticks, cup sleeves on hot drinks, and to heat scones (even when they ask you if you want them heated)..as well as give the wrong items... It's frustrating when you spend your money and dont get what you paid for over and over again. I really hope this can improve in the future...as far as the app goes it's great but I wish it showed what you ordered on your receipt for reasons...
