I'm surprised at all the 5 star reviews. I have been twice now and both times I have been underwhelmed. To start, a small suggestion: make an affordable Tom Kha or Tom Yum soup as an appetizer. Many other Thai restaurants offer this. Here, it is $8.99 for a small and $11.99 for a large (presumably a meal portion). Wonton soup is $12.99 and only comes in one size.
Here is my most recent experience which resembles my initial experience. (I gave it a second chance.) I tried the 4 fried spring rolls for $7.99. They contain cabbage and carrots and come with a sweet chili sauce on the side. I noticed they were not cooked on the inside although perfectly crispy outside. May I suggest taking them out of the freezer to thaw before the quick round in the deep fryer?
For my entrèe I ordered the classic chicken Panang curry with white rice. I was pleased at the size of the bowl of chicken curry until I noticed that most of the contents were actually cabbage. Personally, I don't want cabbage in my curry. Notably, I've never had cabbage in curry before elsewhere and now that I've had it, I'm not keen on it. I'll have to pass going forward.
Last, I watched as people coming in after me were served appetizers and meals while I sat with water. After a great while, say 30 minutes or more, the waitress apologized and said that it would be another 10 minutes. I told her that it was clear that the kitchen was just now starting my order. Clearly they forgot or she had failed to put it in. Either way, this is a miss.
Like I said earlier, I'm astounded at the glowing reviews on here. The servers seem run ragged, the food is filled with filler, and the overall experience is below...
Read moreBrunch time! Tom yum soup with shrimp - really salty on the first sip. I had them remake it and t was better. They added more hot water to it, is what I felt like after they did a redo. We did the shrimp and it was a nice big size prawn. Lots of mushroom and was big piece, good for the eyes and presentation and great for people who loves shroom like me. Seafood yellow curry with shrimp calamari, crab -I liked this because the sauce is like gravy with egg mixed in it or could be crab mixed in it. The seafood was a great mix of calamari, prawns, and trab. The calamari is what the party likes because it's meaty qualityGreen curry chicken - chicken is white neat and cooked well done. The curry green sauce was just ok. The presentation wasn't too pleasing. The taste was on the salty side. We didn't really like this much. Satay chicken skewer - grilled white chicken meat. The skewer has great char marks. The chicken was good with the Savory peanut sauce and refreshing pickle cucumber and jalepeno Fried calamari - fried batter calamari. The calamari is meaty and tender. We all loved it. Roast pork with mixed veggie thai style - roast pork is crispy and fresh and tender. The mixed veggie is good colorful mix and refreshingBrown rice and white rice - we loved the brown rice. The brown rice is .50 more than the white rice. Just FY1. The point is eating healthy is more costly than normal lol. Overall we got seated right away when they opened at 1130am on a Saturday We had a good experience. The food is ok. The service was ok. Ambiance inside is casual. Easy for the parking which is a plus. The overall food was more on the salty side. Hope this review helps. Thanks for reading. Have a...
Read moreBest Thai food in the area no questions asked. Had the chicken satay, crab rangoons, chicken pad thai (spice level 2), chicken thai fried rice, and crispy pork belly kra pow (spice level 1). Chicken satay had a great curry flavor to it with a char grilled flavor as well. Meat was very tender and paired well with the sweet peanut sauce. The crab rangoons were very familiar and satisfying. Not much crab which is what I'm used to but a flavorful gooey cream cheese filling and crispy wonton skin. When eaten with the chili ginger sauce it's amazing. Chicken Thai fried rice was awesome. Only small complaint is there was a lot of white pepper in it which was slightly overbearing. The pad Thai was the star of the night. Super flavorful in every way. Other places in the area make their pad Thai way too sweet. Spice level 2 is perfect for those that can handle their spice. I don't recommend going over level 2 unless you thoroughly enjoy spicy food. I also got the crispy pork belly kra pow to go for tomorrow's lunch. I tried a little bit of it and the pork belly was everything you'd want it to be. Crispy outside with soft inside and delicious sauce all over with all kinds of veggies too. Perfect pairing with some rice. The waitresses were nice too, they were quick and straight down to business. Brought water to my table often and were kind. This will be my go to spot for my thai fix whenever I'm around. Finally a thai place that does the flavors and spiciness right!...
