I highly recommend that you don't go swimming in this cesspool. It's a man-made lake that doesn't have proper filtration. The water is quite literally foul, as its filled with birds and their poop. Never once have I seen anyone, and that includes children, wading in this lake, let alone swimming in it. Somebody posted something to the tune of [...the water it's so clean you can almost drink it.] Sure! If you're thinking you're past-due for an epic case of dysentery, by all means, drink up! You might be thinking to yourself, as i know so many of us do...'You know...my kids have just been entirely too healthy lately. As a matter of fact, they haven't had a debilitating stomach virus in the longest! Well then, load em all up in the station wagon and drive those poor unsuspecting little rascals down to Lake Virginia to cool off. Remember, there's no lifeguard on duty! Water's only 2 feet deep and the other foot is bird doo doo that's settled at the bottom. After the youngens had their fill, on your way home, be sure to stop by the local Walgreen's and grab u a drum of Kaopectate, some rubber sheets, a large economy size box of nitrile gloves, a 3 pack of Lysol, a pallet of double roll 2ply, a 1 time use mop & bucket, a fifth of whiskey, rosary beads and a Bible. Tonight youre gonna find out how many "Our Father's" and "Hail Mary's" it's gonna take for that Koepectate to finally kick in!
t and that's just simply not true do not I don't recommend...
Read moreI love walking around Virginia Lake, especially when the weather is as beautiful as it was today. I think it’s about a mile around so it’s quick if I don’t have much time, and easy to do multiple laps when I’m not in a hurry. I’ve brought picnics here with my husband and also come with the kids and the dog. Always nice to see other people enjoying the views, working out or just enjoying watching the ducks and geese. There is also a playground but I honestly haven’t been to that side in about ten years, when our kids...
Read moreA great place to walk, as it is one mile around. Usually do 2 laps. Has an area with a circuit of exercise equipment. Shore is wooded all around and paved. Has a few gardened areas. Lots of birds and waterfowl and raptors that come and go seasonally, including an occasional bald eagle. See turtles occasionally. Too warm for trout, but has bass and carp to catch. Has a pier to fish from. In nice neighborhood and has views of all the...
