Midtown Spirits Wine & Bites — Restaurant in Reno

I really want to give this place more stars but I had to rest on 3 with whole experience. My girlfriend and i went here on a anniversary night we wanted to have a nice night out with food and drinks. When we got to the wine bar we were pretty surprised to see how packed it was and from what i saw only one person was working the whole bar and front area. She was very nice but it took a pretty long time for her to find the time to come over to our table to take our order. I then asked about food which i was handed a few menus from the local restaurants. It took over 30 min to get food and when it arrived it was barely lukewarm and came with a delivery charge I was kinda shocked at how expensive my plate of Chicken Alfredo was might have been the most i have ever paid for it. After my first glass i nudged my way up to the bar and was able to get a 2nd drink pretty quick. Overall I would recommend this place for cheap and big selection of wine but would not recommend for a night out for...

I kinda like this place but want to really like this place. Here are two recommendations to the owner. 1st, dim the lights a little. It's not a hospital OR or Broadway stage. Get the lights down in order to increase the romantic vibe. It will get more folks both in the door and on the dance floor. 2nd, monitor the room temperature a little better. Last night, 19 Aug, it was so cold you could hang meat. On top of that, all the ceiling fans were turning at a healthy clip. Just too darn cold and windy. And no, it's not OK to just take it outside with the smokers as recommended by a staff member. She also blamed the cold storage conditions on the old age of the building. No logic there. Doesn't she know how to operate a thermostat or fan rheostat/off switch? Had these two issues been addressed without excuses, we would have stayed, spent money, and recommended the place to others....

It is really sad, but has happened to this place. I'll give you one bad night at any time.But this is the second time it's happened. Big crowd, lots of people.Two staff members trying to run the entire front. The girl that's supposed to be servicing the tables barely passes by.We have to go get her for more drinks. Our bill was one hundred dollars and if we had had good service, it would have easily been two hundred.But we got tired of chasing people down for drinks. Not to mention the first round.
