Absolutely inexcusable poor customer service from hosts. And manager wasn't much better. Great food. Great service from Ty? Tyler? Younger red haired guy. Let me elaborate~ Four family members & myself arrived on Sunday Feb.23 about 6:20pm, including two kids. No greeting, no welcoming, nothing from the not one, not two, not three, not even four, but FIVE hosts standing at the podium. Three females, two males; I'd refer to them as women and men, but women & men deserve respect. They were all too busy talking and giggling like high school children gossiping about a crush, to do their jobs. We had to walk up to the podium to be acknowledged on any level, and even then all we got was "five?" No "Hello", no "Welcome in", no "How's it going tonight?", just "five?" Slumped over, and smug attitudes, like they were bothered to do their jobs. Despite five hosts standing there doing nothing but rambling about personal things instead of doing their jobs, it still took a good minute for at least one of them to grab five menus. And when one of the males(younger, blue shirt, black hair) finally did, he didn't say "follow me please" or "right this way", he literally said nothing and just started walking. He made no conversation during the long walk to the back of the restaurant. Nothing. No "elevator chit chat, no "how are y'all doing this evening?" Nothing. When we got to our table, which no joke- was two small tables pushed together DIRECTLY next to the loud & messy kitchen entrance- a clearly unhappy relative asked "Do you like this, or somewhere else?" I said "It's right next to the kitchen...that's tacky. And it's gonna be loud all evening, but there's no where else to seat 5 right now, so let's just sit" The rude host heard all of this, and did not ask if we wanted to wait for another table, did not 'apologize' for nothing else being available, nothing. And he took the cake with throwing the menus on the table. Not joking, check the camera- they're supposed to be set down, especially the kid's ones with the kids in our party, but he lazily & rudely threw the menus on the table, and walked away. No "Your server is so & so and will be right with you", no "Enjoy your meal", no "Have a nice evening", nothing. No conversation for the entire walk, terrible table, no communication about our server, and threw the menus like an unprofessional & lazy a__hole. Ty or Tyler [(apologies, can't remember. Younger, skinny red-haired guy)] was great. Right off the bat-he acknowledged us and said "I'll be right with you guys." He was professional, yet friendly, funny, informative about the menu, and attentive throughout the entire meal. The food was great. It was made correctly, piping hot, and absolutely delicious. I absolutley recommend the chicken & carbonara, and the stuffed chicken marsala. We paid the bill, Ty/Tyler saw me typing on the tablet on the table, and asked if everything was alright. And I was honest and said "with you, yes, with the hosts, absolutley not." The experience was explained, and he took the concern seriously, and actually seemed to care. On our way out we encountered the manager(skinny male with dark hair), the experience was explained, and he seemed like 'okay, I'll stand here and nod so you'll shut up & leave already'. Poor management results in poor employee performance- as our dinner experience proved from the hosts & manger on shift Sunday evening! Props to Ty/Tyler for his waiting service. Props to whomever cooked Sunday evening. Hosts Sunday evening need to be fired, or smacked upside their lazy & rude heads and taught what the Hell customer service is. We...
Read moreLast year for Veterans Day we visited Olive Garden and had a fantastic experience, so we were excited to go again this year. I'm really disappointed though that this was probably some of the worst service I've ever had. We went in knowing that it was a busy day and that we were bringing kids. So we went early, around 3:30, to avoid the dinner rush, and we planned to wait a little longer and tip well for the trouble. Our server Avery was dismissive at best and borderline hostile at worst. Her smile disappeared the instant we asked for a Veterans menu and when my husband asked to order something from the Veterans menu and then an additional entree, she cut him off mid sentence to say that he wouldn't get both meals for free, something we never asked for or insinuated. My four year old mentioned that he was thirsty and wanted water, and she snapped at him to be more patient because she had a lot of tables to take care of. We were actively ignored for the majority of our time there, aside from the occasional huffs, eye rolls, and deep sighs as plates were cleared and water was refilled. We also received the stray comment of "I'm so over this" and yeah... we noticed. There were also table games added to our bill, which probably wasn't our server's fault (although it is super sketchy), and when we asked for the charge to be removed she pushed back that our kids had been playing games. Which I guarantee they hadn't, because as soon as we got to our table I moved the table top game thing so it was impossible for them to reach. I understand that Veterans Day can be a hectic day and that kids can be frustrating, but I expected to be treated with at least the common courtesy you would extend to a stranger, let alone a customer. I was especially disappointed because, as I mentioned before, we had a fantastic experience last year and were looking forward to visiting again. But unfortunately, I don't think we'll be back to Olive Garden next year if we ever come...
Read moreBeen coming to this one since I was a teenager and my mom lived in south Reno. Always good food and friendly staff at that time, 2000-2005. More specifically and recently (February) I was using a walker due to a bad car accident. My husband wanted to take me to an early valentines dinner as I had been bed ridden for a month. My husband called and discussed the situation, which they were more than happy to handle. Upon arriving it was crazy busy, weekend before valentines, of course. We had no delay, maybe a three minute wait time, my husband had made a reservation though. They took us to a table that was exactly what was needed for my condition. A bit out of the way, table, not booth, for two. Our waitress, a sweet lady named bonnie I believe, I hope I'm right because she was fantastic! She was attentive and friendly. I am a server (when not using a walker) and I pay attention to my servers when I go out. She was great, she was on it. I notice this because the table next to us kept her running all over the place, refills, extra cups, sauces, plates ect, every time she returned to the table. To top it off our table and the one next to us were tucked in a corner. She also had multiple tables in another section. When the food came out mine was exact perfection. My husband however was unhappy that the sausage in the sausage ravioli was pureed not chunked sausage. Though he hates to complain, as I said I am a server, and we would definitely preffer you let us fix it than be unhappy with the meal and the experience. So I told our wonderful server and she said "no problem what else would you like?" Within five minutes a fresh dish, entirely diffrent from his first order, arrived via the manager. Who was also very understanding, friendly and completley professional. We had a wonderful experience and should we ever be sounth again or crave olive garden we shall return here. They truly made the experience great, even though they were clearly...
