I love Italian food. As a relatively new resident in Renton, I’ve been on the hunt for that special local place that becomes your go-to Italian spot … the one that feels like home. And now I’ve found it with ‘Angelo’s Pizza & Spaghetti’ on NE 4th Street in the Renton Highlands area.

Tucked at the east end of a tiny strip mall on the south side of NE 4th Street, you could easily miss it. Thankfully, I didn’t. On one ridiculously crazy traffic-laden ride home from work my office in Bellevue, in the pouring rain, I decided I was way too road raged to go home and cook, so I pulled in.

Parking is hard to find because whoever built this tiny strip mall did not provide enough … especially with such a popular restaurant. But all is forgotten the moment you walk in. Angelo’s is a small, cozy little restaurant with TVs and red-checked tablecloths, and aroma inside is mouth-watering.

I was immediately greeted by the owners Tommy & Lisa Pallis. Tom is the behind the counter making non-stop pizzas and Lisa handles all the tables. [There’s also a young brunette gal behind the counter with Tommy but I’ve yet to get her name.] These warm, inviting folks all treated me as if they’d known me forever. I am already addicted to their spaghetti and meatball dinner. If I can ever pull myself away from those meatballs, I’ll finally get to try their famous pizza. And I love, love, LOVE how FRESH their dinner salads are … so deliciously crisp.

I’ve found my go-to Italian spot that feels like home … thank you SO much ‘Angelo’s Pizza & Spaghetti’ for being in Renton the...

I used to live up the street from Angelo's about 15 years ago and we would pick up dinner @ least 2 times a month. Without fail manicotti and garlic cheese bread. I have only been able to get back to this area a few times in the last 15 years to pick up dinner since we moved south and last night was one of them. I was so excited to order and eat my manicotti imagine how disappointed I was when I called & they told me they didn't have any last night, UGH. I can hardly get up there to order and you deny me of my manicotti!! I was so bummed. So while I had never ordered it I decided I would try the cannelloni instead in protest. I wasnt going to leave Renton without @ at least my garlic cheese bread and something. So the cannelloni and garlic cheese bread headed back to Lakewood with me and although it was barely room temperature I broke into the cannelloni as soon as we got home. Now I want to know how the heck I am now going to decide what to order next time???!! It was SOOO GOOD!! When I lived in the highlands I remember it taking a few visits before staff recognized us and were very nice after seeing is a few times so I could tell nothing had changed on that end. I felt out of place and in the way when I got there but nothing a big tip couldn't change and again well worth it for the food. The same gal server (possibly owner too, sorry, unclear) that helped me years ago was there as well as the owner was cooking like he did years ago. Nice job folks and the garlic cheese bread is still the best thing this side of the...

I have been living in Renton since 2007! Never had seen this small family owned restaurant before. I searched “Italian near me” and the first place that pops up is Angelo’s! I’m so happy I found this place! First of all, the service was wonderful! Lisa, helped us and and was amazing! I have never had such a personable experience at any other restaurant! We started off with our house salads, I took the risk and ordered blue cheese dressing (I don’t like many blue cheese dressings) and I was so happy to taste it! It was homemade by Lisa! It was so creamy and delicious! My spaghetti carbonara with shrimp was also amazing. They make the sauces as you order them, so the pasta and the sauce get to probably simmer together and it was just delicious! The side of garlic bread was also perfect, buttery and not too garlicky, but perfect enough to get that garlic taste.

Lisa, She let me try some of their homemade meat sauce, it was 100% homemade! You can taste the condiments the meats, the tomatoes! She also let me try a slice of her own pizza! My husband and I are huge pizza pizza people so to be able to try it ahead, it was amazing! And her pizza only had bell peppers and mushrooms!

Im glad we came here honestly. One of the best experiences and homemade Italian food I’ve tried! We will definitely be coming back!!

I have to mention I am writing this at 11 am while eating my left over Spaghetti...

Hello Lauren Ryan Photography here. On my down time, when I’m not photographing weddings and families, I’m enjoying family life and the hubby. It was my husband’s birthday so we visited Angelo’s Pizza, a cozy mom and pop shop that’s been running for over three decades!!! We tried a variety of food on the menu. They accommodated my pork allergy and truly presented a solid meal. The pasta was tasty with the marinara sauce for me and the separate cup of meat sauce for my husband. All the while watching the NFL draft on the TV!! They had an amazing Greek salad that was to die for!!! That dressing was top notch!! We also ordered a pizza with all mushrooms(ask for fresh, not can), green peppers, and chicken. My husband's side was pepperoni, mushrooms, and green peppers. It was amazingly crispy good good crust. Tho I didn’t like the taste of the chicken. So next time I’ll prob order without. We are extremely picky about pizza because we come from the Midwest and miss our deep dish Jet's pizza and reg pizza from Northville, Michigan, which is pretty saucy in sauce. I can compare the Greek salad from our hometown Coney Island to Angelo's. The dressing Angelo’s has - hits it out of the park!! Also they are very kid friendly!! We plan to bring our 1 year old and 5 year old sometime for dinner. Thank you for an amazing yummy date night! We will be back.

We arrived here around 7pm on Friday. No wait for a party of 5. Felt like a nice family owned Italian place and were greeted when we walked in. Food was really good and it all came out very hot and fresh. We ordered 2 pizzas, 2 pastas and a sandwich. Good price and portion sizes. We liked that all of the pastas and sandwiches came with a salad and garlic bread. The pizza had a very crunchy crust. Really enjoyed the pest on the Eva pizza. We have a couple people in our family who loved canned mushrooms so they were happy the option was canned or fresh and ordered the Angelo pizza with canned mushrooms. Also a nice and creamy Italian salad dressing. One thing was we wish the upgrade to the Greek salad wasn’t so high or we would have loved to try that. The service was nice and brought a pitcher of water to our table and seemed to know a lot of people that must have been regulars at the restaurant. We also felt that she had a genuine interest in us when we first sat down. I agree with another review that the decor isn’t much but that didn’t bug us. Nice they have a tv in one corner and it was playing the Mariners game (if you were looking for a place to catch the game on tv) Would go back! Next time I would get pasta instead of pizza.
